I have defended Moltz to the hilt and was stoked when I read the papers yesterday saying he is a good chance to stay……however am I alone in thinking that everytime a bomb goes up next year we will only have a 50/50 chance of defusing it with him at the back. I know he gained in confidence towards the back end of the year but he just seems to lack any confidence going after the high ball. It seemed he let every second ball bounce instead of going for it. If he does get put in the halves (would prefer Miller though) who would youput at the back. I don’t think Sheens has any long term plans for Brown at 1 and he is simply insurance.

If Moltz is at HB then I don’t see any other choice but to have Brown at FB next year.
However it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw Ryan at FB with Brown on the wing. I wouldn’t be dissapionted to see Ryan back at FB either, but I would have to assume Brown would be first choice.

If Moltzen stays he will more than likely be fullback, Sheens showed his card in that respect by dropping McKinnon for Moltzen even when he was playing poorly.

Moltz wont be HB.
Well nor right awayTroy

If Moltzen plays halfback i’d like to see Grant have a shot at fullback ahead of Brown and Ryan.
Reddy might also be in with a chance to play fullback also? -

While Brown is “safe” and wont let anyone down from what i’ve seen of Grant he looks a class above Brown and Ryan. He looks faster, stronger and i think he will offer more with the ball in hand.

Have you never seen Grant play before? I’m not knocking Brown or Ryan, they’re both good honest footballers. I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
-
i’ve seen all 3 play Fraze, i dont think grant will crack first grade. plain and simple.
-
Fraze have you seen Grant play League before? have you seen his defence, positional and support play, all keys to being a successful FB?
-
Why does everyone keep talking about Grant as a fullback, maybe he will play on the wing…
-
Union and league aren’t that different. Rodgers, Tuqiri, Tahu and Sailor are examples of that.
You look at the role of fullback the main difference is instead of kicking from fullback he’ll return the ball. With the ball in union the fullback plays like a 5/8 similar to league and i have no concerns over his support play it would be equal to or greater than Browns. You’re making it sound like the bloke has never touched a football in his life. -
grant couldnt even crack the waratahs or any other franchise. i think this is more of an experiment with sheens. grant will have to learn the craft in lower grades first. then, we’ll see.
