Despite being regarded the world’s best prop, Blair, who will play for Wests Tigers next season, was excited by the thought he would need to prove himself to the club’s coaching staff and its roster.
The 25-year-old aimed to make an impression on coach Tim Sheens by playing strongly in the Four Nations.
‘‘I’m in a bit of a different situation where my club coach is in charge of a rival national team, but I want to put in a good performance for myself and my country,’’ he said. ‘‘I want to go to the Wests Tigers and gain respect.’’

Im happy he will be wearing the black, gold and white next year and beyond.

I’m really looking foward to watching him during the 4 Nations. Hopefully him and Benji build up a strong combination and understanding of each others game. If that happens, I’ld expect a new right edge attack of Blair, Aysford and Ryan to be almost as threatening as our left flank of Ellis, Lawrence and Lote.
Back on the 4N, I think he will definitely step up, Sheens will be more than impressed and will hopefully show his critics he is worth every dollar were paying him.

I watched Blair closely from the time the announcement was made and i (like many others here) wasn’t very impressed with his effort or impact based on what i saw. He was clearly cruising in 3rd gear for a lot of the year, then when he probably would have stepped up in the finals, he got suspended.
He’s clearly got the talent and you dont go from being regarded the best to average for any reason other than not putting in. All that aside, this is a great sign. A fired up and hungry Adam Blair, alongside a fit Gaz and Keef makes for the foundation of a formidable forward pack, which is where we have suffered at times.
I look forward to seeing him in action for the kiwis.
