I have 2 players in mind that 1 I hope steps up big time and one who will be the next big thing
Jacob Miller I hope can step up to the plate as our No 7 No doubt he will get the job next season despite some reservations whether he is ready yetThe player I think will have a huge season is James Taumalolo from the Cowboys I think teams will be rating him as highly as they rate Aaron Woods by the end of the season
To a lesser extent if they get game time will be Konrad Hurrell and Jordan Mead
Anyone else want to throw a name up for the next rookie gun player ?? -
The two i expect to step up from the Tigers next year are Tim Simona, Iwas very impressed with the game he had in 1st grade this year especially against Newcastle on a monday night @ Leichhardt & the other is the prop Begovich who i think could be as good as Woods & Groat.

Good thread.
You nailed it with James Taumalolo, he will play firstgrade this year and do well. The cowboys IMO have 3 outstanding young backrowers on their books, along with Taumololo, Grismuhl seems fantastic and reminds me a bit of Ben Kennedy, which is a big wrap and Blake Leary who unfortunately missed most of this year with injury, Bellemy when they lost Leary said he would go on to play for Australia, fair wrap.
Their is a number of warriors destined for success, the only problem is fitting them in. Hurrell will play first grade next year and do very well. Ben Henry seems like a future NRL captain, his biggest problem will be getting a start. Slameikhal, DJ Collier and Carlos Tuimave all look to be future stars, but think they may have to bide there time. Jordan Meads has another year in NYC, I expect him to be sorting through some options to play NRL somewhere in 2013
Ethan Cooke looks very handy at Newcastle, i’d be surprised if we dont see him play some role in NRL in 2012.
Dale Finucane will go straight into first grade from rnd 1 for the Doggies.
There is a few more that I think we’ll see alot of next year Stewart Mills, Jack De Bellin, Blake Austin and Harry Seijka all played a bit of NRL last year, and will do again next year I reckon.
Dale Finucane is my tip for rookie of the year, simply because he will get most opportunity out of that lot.

I really hope James Tedesco sees first grade in the next year or two. Watching him through the back half of the season he already looks like a very mature fullback. The game against the Titans at Campbelltown the Tigers scored 3 tries off consecutive sets, all involving him and his excellent support play through the middle of the field. These are things you try and teach a fullback, but for him to display it already at do it so well is a great sign.

Tedessco certainly looks like a talent, he may play NRL next year, but I feel 2013 will be the year we see him make some big contributions
-
BMM this is his year to stand up hes got an injury free off-season otherwise i think he’ll be gonski

Keep an eye out for a couple of centres, 1 from Melbourne Mahe Fonua and 1 from Roosters Tautau Moga
-
Most of these guys seem to be Islanders…

@Wacko Jacko:

TauTau Moga makes SKD’s and Bennie Barba try scoring record/heroics look like Bryce Gibbs’ in comparison. He’ll be massive.

My mail is Moga will be Roosters Left Centre next year, they wanted to play him this year but couldn’t due to salary cap

I just hope we see more of these guys on Fox Sports next year. This year we only saw them for a grand total of 2 times.

Think it is unlikely, channel 9 is likely to have us playing loads of friday night and sunday arvo games, therefore we won get to see the 20’s

Bump….
now we are closer to the start of the season, wonder what juniors we expect to excell now.
For us it is clear Tedessco is our young gun that will play the biggest role.
I think Hurrell and Tau Tau Moga will definately start round 1 and be the biggest contenders for rookie of the year (with our man).
Blake Austin looks like getting a run somewhere at the Panthers and has started well.
Im sure

Be interesting to see how Konrad Hurrell goes against the big boys now he is too old for NYC…Don’t think his going to get it so easy.
Both Tedesco and Moga are still eligible to play another 2 years in NYC. Big ask for them to play more than 10-12 games at the top level this year.
A few more rookies in for a big year Adam Reynolds - Souths, Tyson Frizell - Sharks, Dale Finucane - Dogs
