I was thinking before how will we use Bell ??
Will he be used off the bench with Woods or Ellis are starting props ??
Will Bell himself be a starting prop ??
So many questions who has an answer ?? -
I can see him playing a similar role to Payten towards the end of his career. Just a mature head coming on to steady the ship with our young forwards. He can tackle well and he’ll hit the ball up with a reasonable offload to mix it up a bit too.
Either that or he’s going to be a replacement for Bryce and just tackle his backside off for the first 20 minutes. I think he’ll be a real acquisition for the team.
I hope Ellis in the front row is a last resort… -

I hope Ellis in the front row is a last resort…Yep I agree. I think he will be used a lot like a mentor for the younger forwards coming through the ranks. He is a no fuss footballer who gets his job done each week. From what I’ve heard he is a good bloke off the field as well. I think he will most likely be played off the bench.

My thoughts excately. Bell and Galloway rotation to keep experience on the filed at all time. Blair can also move up to prop if needed. Woods and Groat to rotate.
-
Yep, definitely guys. He will slot Bell exactly into the role the Gibbs played and bring on a Senior prop with a Junior for each rotation.
Galloway/Woods to start
Bell/Groat to come off the bench.….but that relies on Blair not being included in the prop rotation. Which I think is a strong possibility.

I think the same too….he is a senior player and the younger players could only flourish from his experience, so I think he will be used in the prop rotation, and come off the bench I’d assume. I do agree that Woods will be starting with Galloway. Woods was superb this year, and exceeded Sheens’ expectations greatly, so I think that will pay dividends for him, so he will start!

Front row interchange off the bench. I think Hammertime has the right combo listed.
-
I think alot will depend on the development of BMM to me, if he comes on well I think he may grab a bench spot, in that case Bell will be used as relief for the young 3 forwards Woods, Groat, and BMM, given they are young and still developing i reckon they will all miss a number of games, therefore Bell will play alot of footy.
If BMM plays on the bench, i think at stages Ellis or Blair will play in the front row.
If BMM does not have the big offseason he needs, I feel Bell will grab the bench spot and we will have the more traditional 4 prop rotation system with Bell playing in the middle section of the game.
That is how I see it playing out.

Hammertime’s line up looks an obvious and strongest choice.
‘Galloway/Woods to start
Bell/Groat to come off the bench’.
One of the strengths of the pack next year will be the ability to be flexible depending on our game, the opposition and injury. There are a number of forwards capable of competently playing prop or back row. In terms of the young forwards Woods has lived up to expectations, Groat will have benefitted greatly from the nrl experience of this year learning plenty while BMM is a bit behind the eight ball but capable of getting there. -
It’s honestly a masterstroke by Sheens. Bell will probably be as effective as Gibbs in tidying up the ruck, he will have relieved cap pressure and will bring a better work ethic to the Tigers.
I loved the Gibbs, especially how he played this year, but he probably wasn’t the best role model for the young guys. Fifita was the same. We now have 4 good props with a great attitude! It’s going to be exciting to see what effect that has on the club.
Blair will be first stand in if hit by injuries in the front Row and BMM will come in to replace him. I think Bregovich will get some time if we have 2 out.
-
Sheens already said he plans to use Blair at prop or lock, doing tight work in the middle of the field… If Blair is prop I can see bell playing the role of cayless this year…… On the bench!
(yes I know he was injured)

I dunno….I dont see much in him, has never impressed me…hope that changes

Bell is a great no nonsence defender, The games I have seen, He seems to be everywhere hunting down someone to tackle, Nice old school prop, Even down to the black boots and unkept hair, Sorta like Skando except the hair bit.
-
Watched him very closely after signing him and first two games I saw he played 17min and 21min as his first spells, both times he made one 2tackles and zero hit ups. That’s pathetic! Don’t rate him in top 17, he will be there as depth in premier league

I agree that Bell will have a positive influence on the side with the players we have lost, Payten in particular, but I think you’re a bit harsh on Gibbs there. I heard a fair bit saying he always trained the house down, and from what I could see, he was a great role model on the field from the work he did, and the effort he put in.
Hopefully those qualities have rubbed off on Woods and Groat, rather than some other possible ones……
