Guys, whatever you do dont throw away bank statements and financial things like that in your bins. There is a professional outfit that have connections in somewhat places, or they are very smart, that scout bins, both domestic and commercial for this information in order to forge your identity. They move from area to area - they know when there is movement. These people are real, it as network, its probably been going on for years. They have the tools and technology to do it. These people are sophisticated.What baffles me is that we live with these people, maybe we’ve met one in the past, who knows, but their job is to make people’s lives miserable. Thats all they do. But evil will never conquer good. The good news is that if it were happen to you, you should be able to get your savings back, because, correct me if im wrong, the bank should have insurance for this sought of thing especially in this day and age. Its 2011 and it astounds me we still have banks and the ATO mailing out sensitive docs to be left poking out of mailboxes all day long
I keep all my bills, statements and other financial details for several years then occasionally go thru it and burn whats not now needed.
Get a shredder, get a PO Box if you live in a dodgy area, lock for your letterbox

i prefer to burn the papers ink (leave no trace whatsoever) - some people i guess prefer shedders.
