England wins easy 42-4 Rhino got a try on debut from the match report I read
-
only watched the first half - Wales are way out of their league - maybe they should consider a combined team as the fourth side in future competitions. England were sloppy and appeared to only be in first gear - i would say they got a rocket at half time.

Didn’t get to see it, hopefully NRL puts up a replay at some stage.
The 4th side will struggle I think for some time, until they get up to some sort of standard. It’s all a big learning curve for them.

Congrats to Rhino for crossing the stripe. Apparently Gareth went alright as well.

Saw some highlights. Ellis split them open to set up a try for Tomkins. Rhino scored a try backing up a bust from Widdop. All the current NRL guys playing over there seemed to do alright, Jack Reed and Gareth Widdop also crossed the stripe.

I watched a fair bit of the game. England scored twice in the last couple of minutes. Wales were okay but clearly a level below England. The Welsh didn’t help their cause too much by dropping a lot of ball. Their one-on-one tackling was pretty good but they struggled to read what was happening when the English put in some decoys which could cause some issues against the Kangaroos. I’d think NZ would put 50-60 on them and Australia maybe 70-odd.
In terms of whether they should be there, I’m in two minds. They do struggle but unless they get games like this, they won’t improve at all. Also they did have to qualify for the 4N. Also it balances the structure of the tournament a bit more - you can just play it over 4 weeks then. If there went back to tri-nations you’d have one team either not playing or playing some like Wales anyway.

They shouldnt be there. Just have a Tri Nations rather than a Four Nations.
