GARETH ELLIS has put Super League clubs on alert after revealing he intends to quit Australia.

A Grand Final winner with Leeds Rhinos, he has been Wests Tigers’ player of the season every year since moving to the NRL in 2009.

And there would be no shortage of takers for England’s 30-year-old back-row forward.
Ellis said: “It surprises people in Australia, who ask me if I’m going to stay here. But I’m pretty adamant that I won’t.

“I’ve another couple of years left with Tigers, but I’d like to finish my career in England.

“I always thought I’d go to Australia, do what I had to do and go back. I was a Castleford fan as a kid, but I’ve got no ties really.”

Good Luck to him I would like the Tigers to send him out with a priemership, we have a ready made replacement coming to our club in Blair, so his not irreplaceable but would be a big loss

I suppose it was only a matter of time before he and his family wanted to go home and I don’t really blame him.

He has been great for us since his arrival and will be hard to replace. I hope he gets his premiership before he leaves and I feel he will be remembered as one of our greatest players.

As sad as it will be to see him leave , he has made an idelible impression on our club and helped changed the previous culture to that of serious contender from a pack of pretty boys that had a soft belly

We should all thank Gareth for his fantastic efforts and wish him the best for the future if he decided to return home

Well said happy, I think all Tiger fans will dread the day he leaves. Luckily we have Blair to fill some of the void he will leave. But for the next 2 seasons we may very well have the best back row in the comp. Hopefully we can send him out with a premiership.
