Pretty scrappy first half with some flashes of brilliance so far. The Aussies got away to a pretty good start but were unable to cross early. England then had the upper hand from the 5th to 15th minute as they enjoyed plenty of possession inside the Australian half and were first to score with a very good try scored by their right winger in the corner. Slater came across late in cover with a big shoulder charge but it went horribly wrong for him and he broke his collar bone, so his tournament is over.
Australia hit back through Luke Lewis who is now playing wing with Slater gone, Boyd shifted to fullback. Thurston slotted the sideline conversion to put Australia in the lead 6-4 after about 20 minutes. Australia went out to a 12-4 lead after they gained good field position and poor old Heighno made the mistake of going high on Tony Williams and big T-Rexx flattened Heighno and ran 15 metres to score.
Right on halftime England got back into the game with another good try to their right winger Hall who scored in the corner. The kick missed and Australia lead 12-8 at halftime.
Lawrence has been solid for Australia with some more good defence although he has missed a couple of tackles but he’s having a good go. Inglis has been pretty quiet. Galloway only came on just before halftime.
Ellis was strong for England early but left the field in the first half to get some attention on a possible back injury. Heighno has been dominated unfortunately and needs a big second half.
The game has been played at a much quicker pace than last week but execution has let both teams down. Pretty good game to watch though.

I thought the Kiwi commentators were bad but these Poms are the most BIASED clowns I’ve ever heard.
As far as the game goes pretty average affair. Thought Lawrence has had a pretty average game especially in defense and poor old Heighno go absolutely steamrolled by T-Rex.
-
Another try to the International Try Scoring Machine AKA Chris Heighington
-
The Poms making school boy mistake after schoolboy mistake when their in decent attacking positions. You would think they would learn
how useless are the commentators? crying foul over the double movement that was called on the winger. It was a clear double movement, his momentum had stopped. Doesn’t matter if his arm didn’t hit the ground. Someone show these guyz the rule book, they are worse then the Kiwi commentators
and as im posting this Heigno crosses :sign:

And Lawrence finishes off a decent game with a try just before fulltime.
Galloway was pretty solid in his performance and made good metres. Heighno’s second half was certainly better than his first but Australia had too much class for England.
I do think England are right in it against the Kiwis.

It really annoys me when they carry on like that about the Ref. The bloke has only been a Ref for 4 years and is not yet up to International Standards. They want refs from a neutral country they are going to have to wear the mistakes until the Standard of Refs from NZ is up to scratch.
-
Wasn’t impressed with any of the Tigers today
Can’t see England beating NZ without Ellis ,Graham and possibly Peacock
-
Poor performance by the man in the middle imo.
But give me the England fullback , what a player.
Rangi Chase always was an avarage number7 and his performance today left England on the backfoot.
Ithought all the Tigers players had their moments and played solidly. -
Awful decision by Rangi in the 1st half when he decided to kick from the 20 and Briscoe bombing that try, if he’d backed himself he would have gone over, rather than stopping his momentum and coming back in.
Considering that England were missing 2 forwards for the 2nd half and Peacock played injured, I thought they did alright, but if they are out for next week, I think the Kiwi’s can manage it.
-
Australia were far too classy. But gee the referee made it so tough for England. Two momentum killing decisions in 5 minutes, including one obvious try disallowed.
-
So what the IRL is saying that Henry Perenara is the best referee that NZ can produce
Sanity has to prevail with the appointing of neutral referees
Suppose if the IRL had 2 referees like NRL you could have 1 English and 1 Australian in a game like last nightsPerenara destroyed what could of been a ripper of a Test Match

I thought it was a fairly cracking game with both sides having a red hot go. Some contensious refereeing soiled it a bit but nevertheless the better side won and how.
Some points from the game:
#1 T-rexx is smashing it over there! He tormented the crap out of Marshal last week and made him look silly to score…this week he did it to Heighno. That attempt from Chris was attrocious to say the least…go low son.
#2 Slater’s tornament is over unfortunately but he did give us one more glimpse of his brilliance with that try saving steal off one of their forwards. He will be missed but Boyd will get the job done for us for the remainder of the tournament.
#3 JT’s kicking and ball playing were both superb. 6 from 6…many from out wide and that pass to put Ingliss over was pure brilliance.
#4 Our pack stood up to the aggressive poms and didnt take a backward step. Special mention to choc who was again everywhere and had a blinder.
#5 Rowdy had plenty of work to get through and did it all pretty comfortably. Its amazing to see him playing at this standard after the lack of game time he had this season. This tour will make him and his career. Its all up from here for Chrissy.
#6 Lee Westwood is my new villian. Took a high shot from Williams and lay down like a pussy trying to get him sent off. He then took the hitup from the penalty. Later there was a stink and he came flying in throwing punches, 4th man in - all of them dog shots and wasnt repremanded. Then spent the rest of the game whinging.
#7 Tompkins was outstanding. That kid can play and is a sure superstar of the future. I hope he does come to the NRL as he belongs here. Hopefully in a Wests Tigers jersey…
#8 Those commentators make Gould and Rabs look like rhode scholars. What a biased, whingeing, clueless and ultimately pessimistic pair of toss gods. Fair dinkum I gave up counting how many Daleyisms they threw around. 15 minutes to go and only 10 behind, one of them screams “its a shame England will lose this due to refereeing decisions”.
The kangaroos will be very hard to beat for this title, i think Boyd will step into Slaters role very comfortably and still allow us the best spine in the world. Our forwards are awesome and the bench is very strong. I think we’ll see the poms again and it should be a ripper of a game.

Point 6 Stryker No guesses who was 3rd man in then hey
Other point is don’t write the Kiwis off just yet We know from experience what the No 6 can do and the more games they play the better they will get combination wise
-
Happy I would love nothing more than to see Benji play a game that rips England apart. So far he has been very quiet and frankly below par. I do however expect a rematch against the English.
As for point #6…yeah Im sure I saw Sammy in there sniffing about lol…

I thought it wouldve been given a try had it gone to the video ref
In a double movement ruling the arm carrying the ball touching the ground is a crucial factor….it didnt.
