what you mean??
It means this thread is off to a great start, but most likely not too many people stayed up to watch NZ play.

I was impressed by Jordan James the Welsh front rower, and the winger, Elliot Kear I think his name is? Number 2 who has apparantly signed with Bradford, looks comfortable under the highball and ran the ball back well. The Welsh fullback didn’t look to bad either.
As for Blair, its a hard game to judge his performance. It was just a rubbish game which he’ll be better having had a run. I’d look to next week when they play England and see how he shapes up against the monster English pack of Morley, Peacock, Graham, Ellis, Heighington and co.

yeh, blair needs time to find rhythm.
-
The greatness of Blair will be seen week in and out in a season.
-
First game is what, 10 weeks? 30+ tackles, 100+ metres, played the full 80… blew the cobwebs out… very impressive for his first hit out in months.
I thought the Welsh #15 was a real goer, likewise the #17, he split McKendry in half with the best hit of the tournament so far.
-
Blair went well. Wait till he gets back to full fitness… I thought the Welsh number 8 and 6 were both great.

Fraze I reckon you’ll be probably not seeing Ellis ,Graham or Peacock next week
They are all injured and I reckon Graham and Ellis must be reasonably serious for them not to come back on for the 2nd half with a tight scoreline like that -
I like how he knows how to get tackled properly ensuring a quick play the ball more often than not, Farah, Marshall Miller & Moltzen withh thrive off this

For our sake i hope the Ellis injury isn’t too serious…

Ellis was imo best Tiger on show at Wembley - shame he got injured and missed the second half, hope he is fit for next year.

I remember the English side competed in the world cup after we had signed ellis and fans on here were indifferent to him, with many questioning the signing because of his lack of impact. But, what people didn’t see was the little things he did. So, in a defensive set of six every time he’d make a tackle the opposition’s play the ball would slow right down and this had an impact on their entire set of six. One slow play the ball allows the defensive line to get set, reducing the space for the opposition and leading to fewer metres on the following hit-up.
Ellis does the same thing for wests tigers every week. He is such a strong tackler that all the momentum goes out of the oppositions attack after an Ellis tackle. You don’t see those things when you are only looking for metres gained and tries scored.
As someone has already said, Blair, like ellis, does the little things well. He is a high quality player who will have a massive impact to our side. I agree that he is very good at getting good play the balls. Also, his speed in the defensive line is up there with the best in the league. And his work from marker is also very good, he has offloading ability and is very mobile for a big guy. He is a cut above the rest. Ellis, Rhino, Galloway, Blair, Woods in our pack next year. Which side has better now?
