So for the background stuff first, I am a member of a design forum on the AFL forum Bigfooty.com. One of the designers on there (username: Mowse) created a series of more adult oriented mascots for the AFL clubs (dubbed Mowsecot Manor).
The amazing part is the way these are created, according to Mowse himself he “First I just need to get a solid idea in my head of how I want it to look. Then I just draw them straight into Illustrator, freehand with the mouse/pencil tool (tablets are for the weak). I then create a new layer underneath for the colouring. Its pretty simple really and takes about 1-2 hours depending on the character/detail.”
But now to the main point of posting this. After completing all 18 AFL teams, plus 2 other designs (one for a possible Tasmanian team, and a grasshopper), he has now moved on to the NRL, and following the Rabbitohs design (which was even tweeted by Russel Crowe) along came our own beloved Tigers.
Just before you see it I better put up the designs disclaimer:WARNING: many of my illustrations contain excessive depictions of “tomato sauce”. If you find images of “tomato sauce” in any way upsetting or distressing you should leave this thread now.
So what are your thoughts?
I quite like the wy he combined the two clubs in a unique way that still makes the mascot look awesome.

That’s awesome, the Souths one is really good too

Ridiculous

I quite like it.
Not only it is a Magpie and Tiger together. In a way it symbolizes our (Wests and Balmain) history into one iconic logo.

I think thats cool… I really like the idea of a tiger mascot with a little magpie in his shoulder. Just a little one that symbolises the magpie link and history. Not to take over the tiger, just a little nod to the maggies.

Awesome design. Love it

I’ve been a magpie supporter for over 30 years and would love to see the magpie symbol used more frequently and now I love my tigers but personally I think the design looks a bit silly.
Just my opinion.

Dont like it to be honest.
Needs to be more fearsome.
The rabbitohs one is good though. -
Not wanting to get into a whole Wests vs Balmain argument, but we are the Wests Tigers, not the Tig-Pies. Our primary logo is a tiger, with the magpie on the jersey shoulder. I like the comment above about having a normal tiger with a magpie on his shoulder. I don’t want some mutant mixture of the two.

nice design but too futuristic and unbelievable
I much rather the heritage style when it comes to footy…personally i would love our logo to go to the one in my picture
if though we did mix the pie with the tig i would like it to look like a coat of arms
similar to the kangaroo and emu but with a tige and a pie -

I always refer to us as the TigPies. Mainly because some mates started calling us TigPies as some kind of insult, so I took it back and say it proudly!
I love the designs, there is some real talent on show considering his method for doing it with a mouse as opposed to a tablet. Sadly though, the Bunnies one is better then ours, which sucks.

Tigpies are often used by some mates of mine… Even the balmain magpies… But as mentioned before a intimidating tiger mascot with a little magpie perched on his shoulder would be cool.

Change the eagle to a magpie and the lion to a tiger and change the shield, would look awesome
