HEIGHINGTON LOOKING FORWARD TO BATTLE WITH BENJI
      By Wayne Cousins
      10/11/2011 2:25:02 PM

He has admired Benji Marshall’s remarkable skills from close range but now Chris Heighington is preparing himself for life on the other side.

Having pledged his loyalty to England through his father’s heritage, Heighington is set to take on Marshall’s Kiwis for the first time at Hull this Saturday. The winning side will earn the right to play Australia in the Final the following week.

It is a battle the outstanding lock/second-rower is very much looking forward to after nine years playing together at Wests Tigers.

“It sits really well with me. What I’ve seen him do on my side is incredible,’’ Heighington said.

“ I just think it will be a great experience to play against one of the world’s best players in Benji who also happens to be one of my great mates.”

Trying to help Heighington control the unpredictable Marshall will be Gareth Ellis – Wests Tigers player of the year for the past three seasons.
“Gareth is the ultimate player and the world’s best back rower in my opinion,’’ Heighington said.

“As a bloke and as a player, Gareth gives it everything out there on the field and everyone at Wests Tigers really respects that.

“ He is a big part of why we have made the finals in the past two seasons and finishing in the top 4.

“Gareth has been a real asset for Wests Tigers in his three years at the Club.”
