as the four nations final is around the corner i am thinking that with so many tigers playing in this tournament a ’ burn out ’ factor may come back to bite the tigers, especially for the first few rounds of next season.
marshall, farah, lawrence, galloway, blair, heino, ellis will hopefully get a reasonable break when they are all back in oz. all of them will have played virtually non-stop for the last 10 months.

the players who play in the 4 nations generally wont return to training until the new year to give them a reasonable break. the others will return to training soon most likely on monday and do fitness and prep until the new year

Absolutely. Ellis will probably stay in England to celebrate Christmas with his family but all Tigers players involved will certainly do some fitness work on their break anyway and I wouldn’t expect to see Heighno, Marshall, Lawrence and Blair back at training until January.

Yeh the old days of everyone being treated the same are long gone. Players are very much managed on individual needs and im sure the tigers coaching staff will work out whats best for each player and take into account the players thoughts also.
Good thread though and its a subject that certainly needs to be addressed as im sure Sheens and co will do once the series is over

The four nations boys will only do testing in December then come back in Jan (for the most gruelling part of pre season)…
Blair has had 10 weeks off from brookie game to last weekend, he would be ok, the other boys had a few weeks/ after warriors (although travel I know)…
I’m sure they will be looked after

Posted using RoarFEEDYeah this, and Farah didn’t even get a game and is home now anyway. Also, Lawrence will be better for the run as he didn’t play much during our season. Ellis and Heighno would probably feel it more than the others, as both are 80 minute forwards.

Burn out is a concern, but I think it becomes a bigger concern when players have a few years playing most rounds, rep, trials and internationals.
I think we are ok for now.

I know Rowdy hasn’t played many games but the gruelling training can be as hard if not harder to try and keep coming back from injuries

Absolutely happy, ur spot on, however there is still no comparison to the game physicality and match hardness… He will be better for it I think

I think most teams that have had heavy rep schedules find post origin as the time burn out occurs if it occurs at all

This is a very fair point. However, I think this is where Sheens’ experience comes into play. He’s been around long enough to know what’s best for each player and to give them the suitable rest they need. By the time the new season comes around I’m confident all our players will be fresh and raring to go!

Most concerning for me is wondering who is actually at WT central for pre-season training in regard to coaching staff. Jones and???

Georgie?

Correct Ink

I imagine Skando will be helping in regards to pre-season fitness also?
