It has been confirmed on the Eels site that we are playing them in 3 grades in a trial at Bluetongue Staduim, Gosford on 11/02/2012.

The Pirtek Parramatta Eels have announced their trial games for the 2012 season.

The side will play the Wests Tigers and Penrith Panthers in consecutive weeks in the leadup to the 2012 season proper.

Exact times of each clash will be confirmed closer to the date.

      Saturday 11 February 2012
Wentworthville v Wests / Balmain @ Bluetongue Stadium
Eels Toyota Cup v Wests Tigers @ Bluetongue Stadium
Eels NRL v Wests Tigers @ Bluetongue Stadium

The other trial you would suspect will be the Foundation Cup game with the Roosters on Feb 18.

There is no trial as yet on 04 Feb.

They probably dont know which state cup side they are playing, hence to list both of them.

Would this be in the NRL trial or the curtain-raiser? 😉

                  Wh…… um… ahh… I see what you did there…

That’s a fairly good point, they may trial them both in state cup, which would only serve well for Grant, but Mullaney has been playing state cup this year…

If it was me, I’d trial them both in FG to see how they handle being thrown to the lions - (both for very different reasons)

Realistically after some carfeul thought I reckon Kearney will trial Mullaney in FG for the Eels, and Grant will run out for Wests/Balmain in the curtain raiser.

From memory there were 2 NRL trials (at Cambo and SFS) and a 3rd trial (the first one played) up in Townsville which was basically state cup players. But it is late in the afternoon and my memory is a little hazy!

Heard a rumour (only) that we were playing in Mudgee? Now a weekend of wine tasting and footy sounds good to me.

Great to see the Foundation Cup played at LO, Hope we go back to back this year. I’d imagine the reserve grade team + new signings minus Blair will play against the Stingrays
