Farah and Sheens fallout on England tour splits the Tigers
Dean Ritchie The Daily Telegraph November 25, 2011 12:00AM
THE relationship between Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens and his star hooker has broken down to the point where Robbie Farah could be forced out of the club. The Daily Telegraph can exclusively reveal Sheens and Farah fell out during the recent Four Nations tour, and club officials are aware both may not be able to remain at Concord.
Farah has told close friends about his deepening issues with Sheens, while Wests Tigers players are openly discussing it.
The Tigers captain still has two years remaining on his deal but has been tenuously linked with Parramatta.
Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys and club chairman Dave Trodden are aware of the tension between Sheens and Farah. Humphreys is becoming increasingly agitated.
While respected among the Tigers playing group, some teammates are becoming frustrated with Farah.
Farah’s manager, Sam Ayoub, has discussed the situation with his high-profile client.
It is understood the brilliant Farah became irritated when overlooked for the major Four Nations Tests in England.
Aware he would be chosen behind Cam Smith, Farah still felt he could have secured a place on the bench.
There have been ongoing suggestions that Farah and chief playmaker Benji Marshall have a frosty relationship. Both have denied this publicly but the speculation won’t cease.
However, it must be noted that Farah has not sought a release.
The Daily Telegraph left messages for Humphreys and Trodden yesterday but neither returned calls. Sheens did not answer his phone.
While club officials know of the Farah-Sheens drama, they remain hopeful the pair can overcome their issues. Publicly, the officials will no doubt attempt to deny the rift.
One source close to the Tigers said: “I am not sure they will both be there next year. I was talking to a high-profile Wests Tigers player the other day and he said teammates aren’t getting on great with Robbie.”
If pushed, the players will side with Sheens, who is contracted to the Tigers until the end of the 2014 season.
Farah is a matchwinner but he knows the power Sheens wields at the club.

True Daily Telegraph journalism … “One source close to the Tigers … I was talking to a high-profile Wests Tigers player the other day”.
Not sure what to make of this. You see Farah’s passion through a game and it’s like he bleeds black and gold. Can’t see him walking away from the club to join the struggling Eels.

OK I feel a bit better now having read that DT piece(OS). It sounds to me like a beat up.
I’m not saying there isnt tension but I’m sure there is betweem certain players/coaches in any club.
-
ARGH! Seriously?
Please just let this be a beat up from the DT.
I am sure flair ups happen when you have passionate people in a stressful environment, hopefully this is nothing more then built up tension that can be eased by a few weeks off.
-
Man i hope this story is crap
-
Please dont let it be true

What crap journalism. Talk about trying to destabilize the club.

The Telegraph stopped being a credible source of news many years ago. From front page to back page it is full of bias distortions and lies.the paper itself is only good for lining the bottom of a bird cage.
I give no credence to this “story”,hack journalism is the telecraps speciality
-
Probably some truth to the story but no doubt DT have blown it out of all proportion.
Note to Humpty: Get Sheens and Farah in a room NOW. They are not to leave until any issues have been resolved. Man up Tim and Robbie.
We wont win the premiership if Farah leaves.
And I personally wont be eating in Robbies restaurant “Eel, Eel”.
-
Dont stress guys…. Farah or sheens won’t be going anywhere. I’ll tell u why it’s an “exclusive” for the DT… it’s because it’s made up. It’s easy to have exclusives when it’s fiction. I don’t even know how they could call it an exclusive when there isn’t one direct quote from a tigers player/management.
But anyway the story is false.

Thanks smoking gun. I knew the story is rubbish.
