It seems to me every year Campbelltown gets the short end of home game allocations. Let look at this year for example.
Campbelltown
Raiders (15th)
Cowgirls (7th)
Panthers (12th)
Eels (14th)Leichardt -
Sharks (13th)
Warriors (grand finallists & 6th )
Rooters ( 11th)
Storm (1st )SFS
Bunnies (10th)
Broncows (3rd)
Dogs (9th)
Dragons ( 5th )Seems Campbelltown gets the worst picks ?

I was wondering when this thread would come… If you wanted to be positive you could realise Cambo is getting 2 local derbies against western Sydney teams and another game against Canberra which has a tradition of attracting away fans whereas Leichhardt has 4 games against teams with bugger-all away support.
Besides basing allocations on the previous year’s performance is not ideal. Roosters were GF in 2010 and close to last in 2011. The rationale for the allocations I believe is more done on what teams are most appropriate to the grounds they’re given

There’s a natural way these games fall and it does mean the duds end up at either Leichhardt or Campbelltown, but I dispute the fact that there’s some kind of favouritism.
Parra, Penrith and Canberra make sense to be at Campbelltown for geographic reasons and the whole GWS battle. The fact that all three of these sides are mediocre at present certainly makes the Campbelltown rosta look weak but that’s kind of inevitable.
Cowboys, Cronulla, Warriors, Titans and Storm will generally end up at Leichhardt or Campbelltown as they’re likely to get the smallest crowds. As it happens the Warriors and Storm are strong opponents at present, but it isn’t always the case.
Most of the other sides at least have the potential, depending on ladder position and so forth, to attract a 30,000 crowd so it’s inevitable they’ll be scheduled at the bigger ground. Personally I’d love to see the Tigers wallop Souths at Leichhardt but it’s unlikely to happen unless Souths do us a favour by following the Roosters’ lead and having no fans.

To be honest, I don’t think either side should be complaining about who we play and where. Surely we go to watch the Tigers rip a team up, not who they’re playing. I might be a bit different because I go to all three home grounds, but I think whoever we play, people at Campbelltown, Leichhardt and SFS should simply get out and support their team. It has been an issue with Campbelltown and people not turning up because of the time and the opposition. Just turn up and support the team and the rest will take care of itself.

I guess my point is more along the lines of, we see the same teams play regularly at the same grounds. I think I have watched Tigers v Raiders at campbo more than any other match.

this year cambo got
Penrith
Canberra
Titans
Dogswho finished
2
4
7
13last year
for
3 wins and
1 loss

Like you and many others BJ I go to all of our home games at least so who we play where isn’t that critical an issue for me either, I look forward to getting to the games and watching the team most weeks.

Who we play at what stadium doesn’t matter as long as we leave with the win.
However, in my line of thinking I feel as though campbelltown and liechardt should get games against the stronger Sydney teams as we can get a home ground advantage with local support. Whereas games against teams that need to travel should be st the sfs as we will have the majority of supporters at the game.In saying that, looking at the allocations for 2012, I’m not overly disappointed with how its panned out and am looking foward to going to as many games as possible next year!

Do the SCG trust people get to cherry pick their preferred games?

Do the SCG trust people get to cherry pick their preferred games?
Of course…they need to get something for their $$$$

I thought as much.

Campbelltown got no day games in 2011 and seems to often get monday night or 9.30 friday night games often against a non top 8 team. WT and the NRL should embrace the macarthur region as much as possible. Provide some top 8 clashes and avoid mondays and fridays at campbelltown due to horrid m5 peak hour traffic.

Posted using RoarFEEDWhen - nothing to do with WTs or the NRL….9 & FOX determine when games are played
Who- yes thats WTs choice but it’d be a great trick to predict who will be a top 8 team when they elect the opponents for the Cambo games

Independant commision may change tv games. WT have the option of swapping leichhardt/sfs/ctown games pending certain notice to stakeholders.

Posted using RoarFEEDHmmmm it may have happened once iirc to accomodate an opponents dramas, seem to rememeber a swap once not too long ago.
Its not something that would be taken lightly….as I said its the broadcasters determination, not the clubs.
SFS get to choose their games, theyd be contractually locked in.IC might happen…I might win lotto
