Yet another accolade for David Harris - The Western Suburbs magpies would like to congratulate our very own David Harris on finishing runner up to North Sydney’s Beau Falloon in the 2011 NSW CUP Player of the Year award held tonight at the NSW Leagues Club. David, who is a local Campbelltown junior having played his junior footy at the Campbelltown City Kangaroos, finished on 23 votes just 2 votes behind Falloon. Going into the final round, David was actually leading the voting count but missed the crucial final match through injury whilst the Gold Coast Titans bound Falloon managed to gain the maximum 3 points in the final round for Norths against Wentworthville to take out the award finishing on 25 votes.
Congratulations David on a fantastic season - not only runner up as the NSW Cup player of the year, but also named as one of the second rowers in the NSW Cup team of the year and winner of the magpies Best & Fairest award.

Congratulations to David on a fine achievement, may he build on this in 2012.
-
Well done David, should injury cruel us (and hopefully it won’t,) perhaps this accolade will hold you in good stead for selection.
-
Couple of questions Is David still with the Magpies and will he be able to be called up if he is still with the Magpies ??
-
Heard he was training with Balmain
-
-
Only telling you what I was told.Couple of other former Maggies as well,Gus Agai (?)was one
-
Well done David,
Let’s hope with all hard work, you will be rewarded in 2012. -
6 of the best Magpies 2011 players have been told by Sheens they are to play with BRET in 2012 if they want a look in.
Dog.

who cares about a tin cup comp that two seagulls and a brown dog go to
-
I cannot believe such short sighted people still exist.
NRL footballers don’t just happen. They require a development pathway in which the NSW Cup plays a VERY VERY important part. -
It would be a very, very important pathway to the NRL if THESE TALENTED GUYS WOULD ACYUALLY BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO “PLAY” IN THE NRLl!!! e.g. David Gower, Junior Moors & I’m sure there are plenty more!!! I believe that a Reserve Grade Competition should be brought back so we get 3 games on match day not 2!!! And this would give these guys a “genuine” chance to impress & make it a far more even comp as all NRL teams would have to put a Reserve Team in - not like it is now- “A DOG’S BREAKFAST”!!!
-
IMO David Harris earned a well deserved award. I’ve only watched State Cup games at Leichhardt Oval and Henson Park. The standard is very high. It is a shame the reserve grade comp is not played before the NRL games. ( bigdamo?! - wtf!!!)
