Subject: Wests Tigers searching for volunteers to help pack our blitz bags
(20,000 of them)
Importance: High
Hi everyone,
Wests Tigers looking to enlist as many volunteers as possible to help us
pack approximately 20,000 bags which will be distributed to School children
from the Balmain, Campbelltown and Mittagong areas. Each year we visit these kids in their Schools or as part of an organised
day at a local field and it generally forms part of the annual Community
Carnival which all NRL Clubs participate in.When we see the kids, our main objectives are to promote the game of Rugby
League and encourage healthy lifestyles. More directly it’s a great
opportunity to promote Wests Tigers and encourage kids to become Members and
support us long term.Unfortunately, we don’t have the resources in house to pack this many bags
in the limited time we have, so I’m hoping you might be able to help us find
some suitable volunteers to lend a hand.Longer term, the Wests Tigers is looking to enlist volunteers to help on a
more regular basis for things like this as well as home match days and
special events.
Here are some more details:What: Packing 20,000 show bags for School Children as part of the Club’s
Community Carnival activitesWhen: From 9am-5pm Monday 30 January to Friday 3 February. (this might be
brought forward to 7.30am on Monday 30 January only)Where: Centurions Lounge, Leichhardt Oval
Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

Cleaning the sheds after?
-
so long as it’s not cleaning the toilets at Leichhardt or Campbelltown for that matter…sounds like fun to me.
-
cleaning the underground toilets at Leichhardt would be easy.
Just hose down the walls.

For some time now, I’ve thought think the concrete entrance stairways to the grandstand at Leichhardt oval, could do with a pressure clean.
The granstand would look fantastic, with bright and clean concrete.
If wests-tigers supply, a petrol powered high pressure cleaner, and want it cleaned, they can pm me. -
Great, I currently finished my HSC, got my results and I’m looking for a job, so this volunteering won’t just look good on my resume, but will also help the Tigers.
^ Sorry if i sound selfish there :s
Gonna get a couple of my friends to help as well =] -
Not selfish at all prmz…you gotta do what you gotta do.

I attended a fan feedback session in September and we suggested that the Tigers should draw on their fans and use them more in a volunteering capacity. Looks like they took us seriously with this one as well as our suggestion that the current cheerleader format could be replaced with the same type of cheerleaders as the Titans use. I am sure others had similar/same ideas as us and its nice to see they listen to us.

If anyone has some spare time this week (even a few hours would be welcomed), there are still thousands of show bags to be packed.
Great to meet fellow forum member, Gotoddy, today. See you again soon!
-
It was nice meeting you too today Mrs T. Looking forward to catching up at games and the Season Launch.
For anyone who has some spare time this week, please think about helping out. You can see some photos of the blitz on the WT site. The kids are having a ball with the Tigers Players. You can join in by helping to fill showbags for the blitz and enjoy a day with like-minded WT fans.

The fact there isn’t soap in the toilets at Leichhardt Oval was a very passionately debated issue on the forum about 4 years ago.
