The people of Macrthur, Liverpool and surrounding districts have had enough of the neglect. Rugby League needs urgent attention out in the South West of Sydney and NO ONE is listening. So it has come to this, a peacefull protest rally of Rugby League supporters who no longer want lip service but demand action.

On Sunday the 5th of March, a Rally of Rugby League supporters will march on to Wests Leagues Club Leumeah. Start location and time still to be confirmed.

So please join us in DEMANDING we get the overhaul Rugby League in our area needs, not only to be relevant into the future but also to fight off rival codes that want our heart land. Join us at the Rally!

      OUR FAIR DEMANDS INCLUDE

      • Wests Tigers need a greater presense in the area. Plans need to be in place for a full time relocation of their HQ to the region as was the original plan back when the joint venture was formed.

      • We need a fully funded NSW Cup side to provide a stepping stone for our kids to NRL

      • We need professionally run District Competition for the Wests Junior district area

      • Teams need to be able to train and play on grounds of their own choosing

      • More than 4 NRL games a year at Campbelltown Stadium

      • More junior development programs for our kids

I’m pretty certain the Roosters and Bulldogs are interested in this corridor… Have you posted this on thier relevant forums to garner support?

          Good luck!

Sorry mate, it’s Wests Tigers, not Wests Wests Wests. I won’t be at your rally.

The sooner Wests and Balmain die the happier I’ll be.

A joke of a protest and you all should hang your heads in shame. WESTS TIGERS is the brand and a peaceful protest is a disgrace to all who had the vision to embrace the Wests Tigers.

TIME TO LET GO AND EMBRACE ONE BRAND WHICH IS THE WESTS TIGERS. There are some wests and balmain supports who just dont get it, it is time to realise those brands are in the past. Embrace the future and its time you ALL realise that our history is not our future.

                  Merry Christmas too you all.

Thanks for your kind words of support.

This isn’t about getting rid of the Wests Tigers. This is about getting them and the rest of the Rugby League head honchos to realise that all isn’t well out in the South West of Sydney.

Maybe you should pull your blinkers off for a minute and look at the real issues at hand.

And for your information, the Magpies didn’t organise this rally, but we will definately be supporting it.

To the people who are crapping on the rally. Your comprehension skills need updating. Read what was said.

The protest is about, among other things, that the WESTSTIGERS have a greater presence in one of the largest junior areas in the state.

And to Chris. Being Christmas I will not say what I had intended to say except that you are a pinhead.

Guys, I love the passion, but all these ideas are going to cost money, make our club less competitive attracting players (relocation of HQ away from the harbour), or they will reduce revenue.

It is VERY easy to suggest ways to spend money. Maybe also come up with ideas of how they might be able to fund these. You can’t have $5 and suggest that they should spend $10 without ways to make the extra $5. Especially when we are in a GFC and we have clubs that are going to be hit hard with the pokies legislation.

The NRL seem to have a focus for GWS. I think that the Independant Commission will be doing everything they can to make sure Western Sydney stays NRL focused. Hopefully they will start to give incentives to clubs wanting to play out in GWS, much like bluetongue.

Guys a few comments/questions (please read all of them and don’t get offside after the first 2 which you might not like!)

                          - Wests Tigers need a greater presense in the area. Plans need to be in place for a full time relocation of their HQ to the region as was the original plan back when the joint venture was formed.

Huh? When was this the plan? According to who? Never got mentioned at the forums I went to…

                          - We need a fully funded NSW Cup side to provide a stepping stone for our kids to NRL
The Wests Tigers NYC team is the stepping stone for kids to the NRL… If Wests Campbelltown want to run their own team they can.

                          - We need professionally run District Competition for the Wests Junior district area
Agree. What’s the issue out there? I know there was some talk of teams going to Group 6 a while back.

                          - Teams need to be able to train and play on grounds of their own choosing
I don’t know what that means. Could you expand on that?

                          - More than 4 NRL games a year at Campbelltown Stadium
No problem with that so long as they split with LO remains equal and it is economically viable to WT

                          - More junior development programs for our kids
Well nobody is going to argue with that!

Anyway good luck with your rally. I can’t agree with all you demands but some of them are reasonable.

Well said Yoss. Again, for those organising the protest, good luck, but I suspect it will all come to no avail and fall on deaf ears. If you want to make a difference, you’re going to need thousands of people rallying, not 5 or 10 who continually cry over milk spilt over 10 years ago.

When Wests Tigers was created back in 1999, the plan forward was that the club would aim to relocate its HQ to the growth area in South West Sydney. Yet since that day, there has not been any progress towards this goal and in fact if anything, they have aligned themselves more towards being another inner city club.

Also when the joint venture was formed, it was stated that we would merge in the NRL only, all other grades were to remain Wests and Balmain and players not required for NRL duties would be divided evenly between the two feeder sides. Again another breach of the constitution. There was no vote by members to overturn this decision, so it is infact illegal what Wests Tigers are doing. They just rely on the fact that the Magpie don’t have the money to challenge this decision in court.

Two clubs from Campbelltown (the Eagles and Kangaroos) became fed up with the quality of the Wests Junior comp nd its mismanagemnt, so they applied to play in the Group 6 comp. As punishment, they are no longer allowed to train or play on grounds within the Wests District area. Another slap in the face for grass roots clubs who just want to do what is best by their players.

Galahs, the issue of the Eagles & Kangaroos could easily be solved through Council, unless of course the Western District actually own the land. I’m presumming this is not the case, and is a simple matter to put towards the local council to be fixed…

If the Wests Tigers ever allow the Roosters, Bulldogs or any other team to come into the area then it will be a crime. This isn’t a ‘Wests’ thing, its a common sense thing. We have the second biggest junior nursery at OUR disposel, and if we ever neglect it and lose it to another team, someone from the Tigers has some explaining to do. Other teams obviously see the value in the area so why can’t we?
