"WHEN Sonny Bill Williams shot through on the Bulldogs in 2008, I described it as the most dishonourable act from a football player I could recall.
To walk out on your team-mates, your coach, your club and your fans without notice midway through the season is inexcusable, no matter what the circumstances.
But time heals all wounds.
When he runs out for the Roosters in 2013 it will have been a five-year exile.
That’s fair enough.
Rugby league needs personality players and genuine superstars.
Sonny Bill is a turnstile clicker. He’s like Benji Marshall, Billy Slater and Jarryd Hayne - all men with freakish talents.
He is the player who can deliver bigger television ratings - and even bring another premiership to Bondi Junction.
Those who know him best say he is a changed man and no longer brainwashed by his agent Khoder Nasser.
That’s why he attended yesterday’s meeting with Nick Politis and David Gyngell on his own - and from what I’m told handled himself with class.Welcome back, Sonny Bill."

Daily Tele need $BW more than anyone else.
LOL at RottenPhil gettin all moral & righteous.
-
If SBW does come back to the NRL the only club he should be speaking to is the Bulldogs originally
They should have first rights to him if they want him and then if the Bulldogs don’t want him then other clubs can have their chop then
Personally I couldn’t really care if he comes back He can play well at times but I still think he is over rated and only looks good against sub standard opposition

Typical of the roosters. They’ll take anyone, no morals at all.
Hope he does a Carney on them. -

Hope he does a Carney on them.I think it would be far funnier if he does a SBW on them B&W
Can you imagine Politis’s outrage
Now that would make me laugh :roll

The drama of SBW walking out on the Bulldogs still has seeping wounds Happy… The Bulldogs wouldnt allow him to wear there jumper again, and I can tell you the Bulldogs made a formal complaint to the NRL when Channel Nine paraded SBW around during the SOO this year.
Once all the passion is gone and we look at this scenario from a professional position moving forward (
Julia), SBW will bring people through the gates and is better off promoting Rugby League than any other sport.
He would definately look great in the Tiger Jumper!!!
-
I agree Watto about SBW in a Tigers Jersey, That would also stick it to the dogs who are my mot hated club…
-
he has been out of NRL for some time.
only time will tell, to show if he can still be a dominant player.
-
Watto and Spartan You can’t be serious
If it looks ,acts ,smells and bites like a dog it’s probably a dog
The bloke doesn’t know what he wants to do Whether it is still play Rugby ,be the next NZ heavyweight boxing champion or play in the NRL
And if we sign him and someones gets in his ear with another hairbrained scheme which will make him money will he walk out on us ???
He done it once and really had no remorse for doing it .What would stop him from doing it again ??
Very little I suspect
Oh and I forgot to add .He was good mates with Willie Mason
Enough said I think

You can tell there will be a salary cap rise as the feather dusters are on to Dollar Bill already, yes i know Mini will probably retire, but the chooks know.

To be fair, thats hardly new news.
Been talked about ad nauseam in line with the ind. comm. and the NRL broacasting rights coming up soon.Anasta will like call time too.

Not worth the 800K a season they are rumored to be paying him!

Hard to disagree he is a handy player, however I couldn’t have him here on principal alone.
They can spin all the lines they like “he was brainwashed,” “he was only young and thus impressionable,” it still doesn’t change the fact that a bloke in his early twenties knows it’s wrong to up and leave a club and leave all your team mates and your coach high and dry, much less when it’s to chase the dollar.
I’d be tempted to say to never let him back, however if the game is going to become truly professional, they will need to let him back, as he will have paid his penance with the Bulldogs.

Who cares if he “could” walk out on us… Thats for Humpty to deal with “if” it happens
I’d rather him putting his shoulder charges on Jonathon Thurston in a Tiger Jumper than cleaning up Benji Marshall with a season ending fractured sternum.
