I don’t know if this has been posted before.
have you achieved your ambition?
my burning ambition was to be working for a Formula 1 team.
did not matter who they were as long as I got there.with the twist and turns, life throws at you, I have been very fortunate to be involved motorsport ( rallying) and travelled overseas.
so I am happy to compromise.
what about other forum members

Interesting Thread!
I have had an ambition to Retire at the age of 45 years for some time now, so I’ll let you know in 4 years time!
I have also had an ambition to buy the Wests Tigers, but my wife says no chance, and my business partners all love the Broncos and dreed the day I place a proposal/business plan in there laps… They have no idea what they are missing out on!!! :brick:
Once you achieve one ambition, do you not set the bar higher and focus on new ambitions?

My reachable ambitions were quite simple: find a great missus, travel overseas and have a stable and well paying job. I have achieved all three.
As a guitarist, I would have always loved to have released an album but I have no time to devote to creative pursuits.

Mine was an international jet pilot… I’m a pilot, on jets but never lived abroad nor flew overseas. ( as much as I’d love to claim Hobart!)
Am getting older but somehow the passion has never faded.
Good topic. Also always helps to define your goals in print for you to visit later.

I wanted to be a foreign diplomat - I work in aged care. I think I can safely say that I haven’t achieved it

Not there for me.
Career is finally starting to click, I got some serious clout at work after years of hard work… I’m aiming at one more rung.
Got a good girl and the mortgage will eventually get there…
But I really wanna see my 4 kids in Uni and then I will be happy. For this spartan of humble origins and extraction I just want to give the next gen a great work ethic, a humble attitude and the best education I can.

I always wanted to be a Kindy teacher, and I graduated as an Early Childhood Educator in 2005. Next personal goal is to gain permanent employment as a teacher.
For my kids, I always wanted them to have a good education - do the HSC and uni too - and for them to be happy and content in life. My 2 adult kids have their HSC’s, #1 son is studying psychology and works in a major hospital; daughter has her her HSC, Cert 3 in Child Care and is doing the most important job of all - full time mummy to her beautiful son. Both are in loving relationships. #2 son is only 11 and heading into Yr 6, s we still have a wait to see what he makes of things
Hubby and I are on our way to owning our home outright, then it’s time to travel.
I reckon I’ve achieved a lot, but still have plenty to strive for!

In my school year book I said I wanted to be a roadie for The Angels
If I could of earned as much for what I do now as I would of earned as a roadie for the Angels I would of been happy and contented

In the late 1970’s, the company I worked for sent me to a training course, in which you had to set yourself three goals for the future. One was financial, one was to do with business and the third for the family.
My goals were:-
1. To be able to afford to retire at sixty.
2. To reach General Manager position.
3. To have a week-ender close to the beach.
While I achieved the last two, I did not retire until I was sixty-two. -

I’ve got a huge passion for aviation. Once I finish my Commerce degree halfway through this year, I definitely want to find a graduate position with an airline. I started uni doing Aeronautical Engineering in the hope of getting in to that side of aviation but quickly found out that I’m no engineer, so I changed over to Commerce and really finding an interest in the logistics/operations side of things.
Definitely want to live/work overseas for a few years as well.
In terms of the Tigers/footy, I’ve got two ambitions. The first was to go to every Tigers game in a season. I did this with my sister in 2009. Managed to get to Townsville, Auckland, Melbourne and the Gold Coast. The next thing I want to cross off my list, and will most likely do it this year, is to have been to a game at every ground in the NRL. I’ve been to Melbourne (Olympic Park) twice before, but with the Tigers not playing at AAMI Stadium last year, I’ll be able to do it properly in Round 14 this year!
