I’m new to this so please excuse any mistakes, I agree that Moltz should be half with Benji as they seem to work well together. I’m so glad that Moltz is staying and hope he has a gr8 season. Please don’t put Beau at fullback as he makes me very nervous, i do love Beau but at fullback he is not good for my stress levels.

Beau Ryan at fullback wouldnt bother me too much. If he manages to keep his 2011 form I think he could be one of our better players. However, I think that it will most likely be Brown at this stage as I feel that Reddy will be too big for fullback and will make a great utility. And Tedesco, i feel, still has much to learn and will definitely get his chance after serving his apprenticeship in the NYC

In saying that, with news of Moltzen being out most likely halfback I was slightly disappointed. I was really hoping Miller would be given a shot as I think he has the goods to excel at half and I thought (as did many) that Moltzen was finding his feet at fullback and chimming into back line shifts seamlessly off combinations with Benji.

When I think of Moltzen at his best I remember the line breaks he made against NQL, Parra, Cronulla and Saints, and the improvement in his defence that came as a result of increased confidence in his attack. I can only hope he manages to transfer this into his role as halfback.

If Mitch Brown plays No.1 this is his chance to grab a permanent position. Hope he smashes it as I’ve always liked him.

Good first post TigerKaz , but I think the team would be better served with Moltzen at 1 and Miller at 7 at this stage and then Tedesco to be the No 1 in the future

My one major concern for the club would be to lose Tedesco as he will be a special player in the future

              Welcome Tiger Kaz,
Happy I suspect the reason that Moltz is going to Half is to make room long term for Tedesco, clever future planning.

THANKS everyone, I just hope that the tigers have a fantastic year and they win more then they lose. I’ve followed the Balmain Tigers since i was about 14 when Benny, Blocker,Siro and Wayne Pearce were the best players ever. of course i had the biggest crush on Ben Elias and still go weak at the knees whenever i see him
( how sad is that) I forgot about Mitch Brown, i do like him. What do you guys think of Adam Blair??? i’m not sold on him but he might suprize me.

I look at it a little diferently Goose I think they should keep Moltzen there until Tedesco is ready and then play Moltzen from the 14 myself

Assuming that Lote will retire at the end of this season then you would bring Reddy in as Lote’s replacement

IMO Moltzen has to be in the 13

edit: the starting team, not at lock

I think in about 10 weeks people will be alot more positive about Moltz than they are now

Goose I’m not disagreeing with you Moltzen will be an important cog in 2012 (I was one of his harshest critics for the first 4 months ,deservedly too imo) but I think Tedesco and Miller are the future of the Tigers and if we resign Moltzen and lose Tedesco it would be madness

                        Now,Now Goose and Happy Tiger
Whoever plays in the 13 i’m sure sheensy knows what he’s doing. He has been doing this coaching thing along time. I’m pretty sure that number 1 and 7 will be hotly contested by a few very good players for what is best for the future of the Tigers not just 2012 and with Moltz prone to a few injuries there might not be a choice.

No its to squeeze Reddy or Humble into the starting line up. I think Reddy will get first crack at no1 and Humble will be the mandatory back on the bench. Poor old Mitch just isnt on Sheens radar for what ever reason

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Beauster getting a crack at fullback. He’s played a couple games there in the past and has killed it everytime.

I hope that Reddy or humble have to wait their turn, Last year we had Beau, Moltz and Mitch to do the fullback position and without injuries to Lote, utai, lawrence someone would have missed out on showing us their talents. I think Mitch Brown has proved he fits into the team and plays well so why not reward him with a spot he can call his own somewhere. That might be the mother coming out in me not the business of Rugby League but i think that’s fair. Personally i wouldn’t mind more play down the right side as i think that the ball gets out to chris and lote all the time and the opposition knows this ( don’t get me wrong i like to see chris all the time) but i would also like to see the right side dazzle as much as the left.Where will they put Beau??? This must be gr8 for sheensy to have backups in every position, hopefully we wont need to use them this year, let these new players earn their stripes and blood them every now and then. Reward effort but not at the expense of older players.

Tigerkaz, ild imagine the ball will be heading down both the right and left corridors evenly this year. On the left edge we have Ellis, Lawrence and Tiquiri, whilst on the right we’ll have Blair, Ayshford and Beau. Both edges just as formidable as the other, if you ask me.
