Chris Lawrence doesn’t like to waste his spare time.
The Australian Test centre may train between 5-6 days a week full-time with Wests Tigers but it hasn’t stopped him from establishing his latest business venture, Groundworkhealth.
After graduating from St Gregory’s College, Campbelltown in 2006, Lawrence knew he wanted to be involved in the fitness industry.
Two years later, Lawrence established his first company, LivePlayWork Health and Fitness which looked at combating childhood obesity through holiday clinics and sports programs.
“Since then, the company has included the whole school community including teachers and parents in our program in the hope of passing on our knowledge and beliefs on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle,’’ Lawrence said.
With LivePlayWork Health and Fitness now established, Lawrence is focusing his off field attention to Groundworkhealth, which he co-founded with friends Clint Hill and Leon Keir.
“It is a website (groundworkhealth.com.au) with all the information I have learnt in being a professional footballer about nutrition, training, and recovery,’’ Lawrence said.
“There are a lot of people in the general population who don’t get the access to all the information, coaches and training facilities that a professional athlete gets.
“The website has this information for anyone who is looking to lose weight, gain muscle mass, or want to live a healthier lifestyle.”
Lawrence plays his 100th first grade game for Wests Tigers against Cronulla Sharks at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday, March 4.
