@hodgo said in Souths Assessment:

Rowdy i thought was very good defensively played his guts out and was solid.
Starting props were solid. Aloai really dents the line and oliver is very good defensively

This is a good assessment, Rowdy was very good, and Josh and Oliver done the job, some others though were poor

Official, Grub and Latrell facing 2 weeks suspension, a bloody joke

Souths get away with this crap every week, holding down in the ruck, not square at marker and not back the 10, but there is no stat for penalties not given against them, that is how they won in 2014, and it is happening again.
But even with the refs onboard they won’t beat the good teams this year, so that is something I suppose, but I would love some equality and consistency in the officiating

@Russell said in Mitchells worse than BJ:

Not anymore - Blind Freddie can see it for all it is worth out in the open. Love the new rules that PVL has introduced but the way the referees are officiating, it is open to rorting. One rule for the favoured teams i.e. Storm, Eels, Broncos, Roosters, Penrith, Souths etc. another rule for the unfavoured Tigers, Manly, Titans, Dragons, Dogs, Warriors etc. Then depending on who is playing which way the pendulum swings.

I agree Russ, someone from our club needs to take this up at NRL HQ, and do it now, but in the game before us the warriors never got 1 penalty all game, seriously the ref was only watching one team and I see it every week.

Mbye Reynolds Brooks horrible.

A million times better with Benji on the field. Dumb coaching by Madge.

Can’t believe he hooked Grant
Reynolds was puss

He was better than Brooks, Brooks should have been hooked

Late mail: Stefano Utoikamanu will debut for the Eels, and he’s one to watch out for. At 192cm and 115kg, he’s a monster of a 20-year-old. Before he even made his debut, NSW Origin coach Brad Fittler named him as a potential Blues bolter.

“He’s a bit like a [David] Klemmer, Payne [Haas], maybe not as mobile as Payne, but he’s a good player. He was the best player, as they were coming through,” Fittler said. With Ray Stone and Oregon Kaufusi set to be sidelined for some time, Utoikamanu could get his big break. He’s already been locked down by the Tigers on a three-year deal from next season.

Not as mobile as Payne…?Payne is getting caught short by the speed of todays game…maybe Stefano aint gonna be the godesnd we thought…?

He would probably play limited minutes until he gets with the speed of the game, but if he is in the blues sights, he must have something going for him

@dazza65 said in One on one: Tigers' summer sales pitch to Mitchell:

People (Media etc) should let it go. I don’t believe for one millisecond LM was EVER coming to WT - and I for one am glad.

He was always going to souths, the manager played us and the cowboys so as to disguise the fact he dealt with souths illegally before getting permission to negotiate, I think easts found this out and gave him permission anyway. I hope we exploit him Doueihi has a blinder we win and Mitchell cries again

i just cant believe obtaining two origin wingers is better than Nofo
The loyalty from some is insane

We already have a player like Nofa at the club on the same level as those players many supporters would agree I feel and also the fact he WANTS to be at the club and has proved to be one our best players this year and shows more heart in every game he plays with his dirty runs from our goal line and ability to beat a number of tackles, and the man can also find the try line easily - (one of my greatest fan moments was when the club was in a rock bottom period I think during the Jason Taylor vs Farah days and he scored in the corner with just pure grit while others weren’t even showing any effort at all (cough… Mitchell Moses) and he got up and went straight to the camera and kissed the badge and went ballistic and fired everyone up including myself in a game where no one turned up besides himself and probably teddy lol)

You speak about NSW origin wingers but statically he should be one of the first wingers selected if NSW were picking the team today, we need one winger I agree, however I wouldn’t swap Nofa for anyone bc you can teach skill and he has plenty regardless, but you can’t teach the heart and passion he possesses to have the combination of being skill full and also being legitimately passionate about your club is as valuable as anything and that’s what truely wins premierships

There’s other areas we can spend that money which would be way more beneficial to the club

And this is why we don’t play finals footy. We settle for passion over quality. Origin wingers are on less than him but we’d rather have a known, loyal player than try and sign the best players we possibly can. It’s a loser mentality.

Until we start making semis ,Origin wingers wont come to WT .for a market price…and besdies,Nofa has outplayed ferguson and a somewhat disinterested JAD this season, and Johnston has only fired up for the first time in years because hes getting punted

JAC has been very good for a very long time. He is a current SOO and Kangaroo rep. He has some personal issues but as far as consistency is concerned, this is Nofoaluma’s first year he has performed well but he is on overs, more than a SOO and Aust rep which is madness.

Here is a breakdown of each players attack and defence running metres by season etc …with no names…which winger would you pick…?

Remembering 1 play for the Storm 1 plays for us

Can you provide the forum with a breakdown/stats for each SOO and Kangaroo game played by Nofoaluma and JAC?

Not sure what that has to do with Club football …given that SOO and Test Football involve elite talent from all Clubs and are played in 3 games or 1 off tests and would never fit in a NRL cap…not the week to week grind of NRL seasons

I could provide Nofoaluma’s Samoan representation v Addo-Carr’s if that would help you pick one…

I believe this was your statement JAC has been very good for a very long time. He is a current SOO and Kangaroo rep. He has some personal issues but as far as consistency is concerned, this is Nofoaluma’s first year he has performed well

Mate some people just think Nofo is useless, me I can see his value to the team, and if he was on the open market now plenty of clubs would be calling, I want him to stay and reap the fruits of his labour
