Mr egg shells caused a lot of issues, they won’t be a problem now, the club will be a far better performed club this year without him

    • RE: Madge on Matty Johns now

Disappointed to miss the 8, most proud of our defense.
Flogging by Parra at Bankwest most disappointing.
Said he got Benji fitter than he has been.
Last weekend, said it was special and crazy day, Farah wasn’t supposed to play.
Should have been able to handle last week, but we failed.
Grub handled himself well, probably be here next year.
Matto signed for 2 years, not going, good relationship with him, will work through any problems with him.
Said Walters is signed, most likely a 9.
Roosters best team in the comp.

Why Benji Marshall didn’t want his family at last Tigers game**

      https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/nrl-news-benji-marshall-filthy-with-wests-tigers-for-not-resigning/8cd9e0bb-a45e-4269-918a-825f3a6c2472

Benji Marshall may have put on a happy face for the cameras and fans following his side loss to the Eels on Saturday but the truth is the Tigers great is filthy with the club.

Marshall’s exit from the club after a rocky year with coach Michael Maguire was the main reason why the Kiwi great rejected an invitation from Tigers officials to have his family to join him on the field after his final game.

While the Marshall-Tigers break-up may have appeared amicable, beneath the surface the relationship has sadly deteriorated.

The Tigers legend is upset by the club’s decision not to re-sign him, and even more hurt by the fact he read about it in the media first.

Marshall’s family didn’t even attend the game and took part in his walk of honour on his own despite the retiring Chris Lawrence being accompanied by his daughter Emme and wife Kathryn.

The Tigers got an exemption to have both families on the field but Marshall opted not to, which was in contrast to his wife and child attending and posing for photos at his 250th game for the Tigers in round 14 before he was told he wasn’t part of the club’s plans.

The Tigers have tried to make a big deal of Marshall’s last game but the five-eighth didn’t want any fanfare made about his last game for the club. Marshall is confident he will continue his career elsewhere.

The knee injury was an unfortunate end to Marshall’s career and the playmaker has garnered plenty of positive reviews about his play this season, with Maroons legend Johnathan Thurston one of several former players dumbfounded by the Tigers’ move to drop the star.

Proves my point from the post above - sooking and sulking… its a shame

Instead of sulking he should be thanking the club, he walked out on in 2013 with 2 years left on his contract, paraded around in an Auckland Blues jersey as well.
If I was CEO he wouldn’t have been offered a contract in 2018, and he certainly wouldn’t have got one in 2019 or 2020, to carry on about not getting a 4th year out of a 1 year swan song contract makes me sick.
I have said this for 2 years, the club will improve without Benji, it’s sad but true, ego is a funny thing, reality is lost on him, no doubt the club will be to blame again for all this.

I met Tommy a number of times, I have a couple of autographed photos, but the last time I met him I got to sit down and have a beer with him. I helped him on and off the stage, he was there with Max Krilich, he signed an autograph “To Paul, thanks mate, Tom Raudonikis.”
That sits proudly on my bar.
The epitome of heart and soul, he will be sorely missed, a true legend

    • One home ground

Been discussed before, but after today, where we played a team who were 0-4 and conceded 141 points in there first 4 games, a side who we have the best winning percentage against in the league, and we dish up that.
That is not even taking in to account the Tommy factor, which alone should have inspired a win.
We have a shocking record at Leichhardt, we need to ditch the 4 home grounds and get one and stick with it.
We gain zero advantage from our supposed suburban grounds, we are wasting our time, make the call and let the fans whinge, but at least we will have a real home that the players can actually call home.
I am old and I get the heritage thing, but it is useless if it doesn’t get you an advantage, get with the 21st century Wests Tigers and get us one home ground, the nomadic days are not working and need to be abandoned.

Why Wests Tigers are furious with Fittler and NSW Blues

      By Michael Chammas
      November 1, 2020 — 7.45pm

NSW coach Brad Fittler put a few noses out of joint at the Wests Tigers this week following his comments that he was “disillusioned” that the Tigers could not find a spot for a young Ryan Papenhuyzen at the club.

It’s the second time in a few months Fittler has had a crack at the Tigers, criticising the club for having “an identity crisis” and questioning whether they would “become anyone of real strength” on Wide World of Sports’ Freddy and the Eighth in August.

Safe to say it didn’t go down well with Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis, who is the owner of Brydens Lawyers - the major sponsor of Freddy’s Blues.

Hagipantelis has asked club officials to reach out to Fittler to find out if he has a problem with the club. The Tigers haven’t had a player represent NSW in the past three years under Fittler, who overlooked Dally M winger of the year David Nofoaluma.

Going by the talk out of rugby league circles, it’s not the only thing that Hagipantelis has to be upset about. This column understands the Blues major sponsor hasn’t heard from NSWRL chief executive Dave Trodden since March, prior to the COVID interruption. Trodden is under a bit of pressure, with an email doing the rounds of several clubs questioning his leadership.

Trodden’s name was mentioned as a potential replacement for Todd Greenberg as NRL chief executive earlier in the year, but there are very few people at head office who have good things to say about the NSW boss.

      Foxx having second thoughts

There’s been another twist in the contract saga of Josh Addo-Carr, with the Storm winger indicating he is happy to remain at Melbourne next year should the club not be provided a suitable replacement.

Addo-Carr had signed a heads of agreement with the Wests Tigers that he would link with the joint venture in 2021 should he be released by the Storm. However Melbourne’s premiership triumph may have triggered a potential change of heart.

About time someone from the club spoke up, rather convenient our sponsor also sponsors the blues. Freddy might be a little uncomfortable now, and I hope the hell he is, idiot keeps taking pot shots at the club, people in glass houses Freddy old mate

    • RE: Penrith Bleating about Losing Juniors

No one gave a crap when we lost Tedesco, Moses, Woods, JAC and Papenhuysen, the media just blamed the club for poor management, now it is another team they listen, give me a break.
As an old Wests fan this has happened for well over 40 years, and we never got a break from the NRL or NSWRL at the time

    • RE: Cummins and the Nrl are a joke.

Souths get away with this crap every week, holding down in the ruck, not square at marker and not back the 10, but there is no stat for penalties not given against them, that is how they won in 2014, and it is happening again.
But even with the refs onboard they won’t beat the good teams this year, so that is something I suppose, but I would love some equality and consistency in the officiating

Good hookers are at a premium. Either liddle or Jake will get snatched up and we need to keep Simpkin or best case scenario both

Agree. Hopefully we get something done before other teams can “officially” start talking to Jake.

Easts will be talking to him now, we need to move now

What about the set restarts, we couldn’t buy one, I think it was 7-1, he held us to a higher standard than souths

Always, always, always! That’s what is so hard to take. He just refuses to give us a bloody chance.

There was one set of six in the second half, the FOX commentators said that will be a set restart twice, we got neither
