Marsters has been doing a good job in the centres and it’s the only place I can find for him to stay in the team. The left wing spot is open for grabs, so anyone who impresses in the preseason can have it. Lawrence can play a utility role, Liddle goes down, Rowdy to 6, Grub to 9, centres with some shuffling of the backline if Tui goes down.

Aloiai???

Benji???

Brooks will start halfback but Benji will get a shot in the halfs and it’ll be his to lose

Why?

If Benji is performing better than Luke during preseason and the trials, why then should Luke “start” at half next year?

There is genuine competiton for spots across each and every position. No one can be too comfortable anymore. Bring on 2018 - it’s going to be a cracker!

If we don’t have to pay a cent, than I would take Farah back.

Imagine if Benji came back as well…

Hopefully he can come back and get a role at the club once he retires.

Him & Benji took unders to stay at the club and keep it under the cap.

I truly doubt that.
Farah took less a few years ago to help keep some at Tigers but the end result was a heavily backended contract, the result of which we are witnessing now.

Benji was given a verbal figure by our previous CEO that did not get final board approval with the result of Benji throwing a tantrum, signing with NZRU, parading in a RU jersey while still playing for the Wests Tigers and ending up in the Qld Cup.

Frankly I don’t want either of them back here, in any capacity.

Robbie and Benji were both overpaid and that caused massive issues for the team to develop a top quality squad. The has continued to this day with the big 4 being massively overpaid.

Hopefully this never occurs again.

Amen to that!

We are assembling the best roster on paper Wests Tigers have had for many years.

Arguably, the best (and most balanced) roster, ever.

Any rumours on him?

I have heard Souths are interested in him.

Comparing lolohea to Tedesco is pretty tragic….if supporters are happy not to lose players come rep time…then they’ll have to get used to long times on the bottom of the ladder

Disagree….In 2005, when we won the comp, how many Australian/Origin rep players did we have? I can answer it for you, we had one - Scott Prince played for Australia in 2005. That’s it. Just one…

Last year, 2016, we had three NSW Origin players - the most ever in a season and we couldn’t even crack the top 8.

That’s a fair point Agi…would still love a few big names in our lineup…enjoy vanuatu : 😃

Thanks Champion!

Interestingly, in 2005 we did have three Kiwi Internationals in our team…in 2018 it looks like we will also have three Kiwi internationals in our side in Taylor, Matulino and (possibly) Packer. Maybe having our rep players outside the Origin pool has some merit- let’s see next year.

I didn’t realise that he was a (Balmain) Tigers fan growing up - nice to know…

Many of us here will not hold that against him!
