Great read. I loved how he emphasised the club and team aspect. This type of response makes a welcome change from previous CEO’s

The difference is Wally’s contract had expired so he effectively wasn’t punted

Lewis, Jennings and Gordon’s contracts hadn’t expired though.

In all of these instances the situation was handled a lot lot better than what we’ve seen.

It was. None of those players dragged their club through the media.

I remember the night the statement was released, and there was a backlash instantly. Why was the club not entitled to give him permission to look elsewhere just like Penrith did with those 3 players. Because working out the difference in both original intentions gives me a headache.

Great point. From memory Wests tried to do the respectful thing but Ayoub being the grub he is, leaked it to the media and let it play out from there

Farah knows we need money to secure the future of players like ET at the club AND HE DOESNT GIVE A DAMN !!!

Robbie is owed his contract. It’s back ended because the club asked for those terms.

The management of the situation by Taylor is a disgrace.

Can you imagine clubs like Brisbane or Canterbury treating a club legend like this making him play out his last few games in reserve grade?

Further when those clubs decide to move players on it’s done quietly and with respect.

Yes I can imagine Brisbane and Canterbury doing this. Remember Wally Lewis being moved on by Wayne Bennett?

Was Wally Lewis dropped to Queensland cup or whatever was reserves for Broncos at the time?

First they took the captaincy off Wally and gave it to his best mate Gene Miles. Then they moved him from five eighth to lock, and finally left him on the bench for their semi final win against Manly. He was eventually let go at the end of the season when his contract expired as Bennett wanted to keep younger talent

My point is though that Robbie Farah isn’t the first and won’t be the last “club legend” to be treated in this manner

Its a big call by JT and if it doesn’t pay off, he will be out of a job. You have to at least respect him for putting his jatz crackers on the line like this

Game will be won and lost through the middle, and off the back of a good kicking game. Selection of Rankin is neither here nor there for me

Two things dominating the news at the moment - the election and the "feud’. At least the election will be done and dusted in a few weeks……

Throw away line from Leaping Leo, wouldn’t read anything into it. There has been zero indication from Wests Tigers or the NSWRL that they are looking at changes to reserve grade for next year

If anything, I’d say Leo is just trying to talk up their prospects in the hope of getting Liverpool and Campbelltown to get into a bidding war.

Crikey, if Noffa and Moses are his mates, imagine what he would do if he didn’t like you!!

Glad we let him go. Discipline a real weakness which opposition teams can exploit with niggle

And that’s the issue I have, he’s exactly what we need. I know Penrith are paying most of his contract but surely we have some coin lying around to re-sign him?
