His future is far from sorted. So much riding on what Cam does, and even then if and how much Storm are able to increase their offer to him. There’s really no point discussing it until cam decides what he’s doing as everyone can only say the default legal overview of the current contractual situation. That’s all he’s done. And what Ponissi’s done.

Elliot and CHN would be starters in our side,Sue as a backup like someone said is better value then Clark, and Meaney is a speedy fullback being played on the wing

I think Elliot is a ball hog, Sue is nowhere near as good as Clark and that is while he is conscious, Meany I like but too small, might as well have kept Thommo.

CHN seems ok but I am yet to be convinced.

A lot of people saying Meaney is too small, he is taller and heavier than Papenhyzen, I don’t get it

He’s big enough to play fullback, but not wing. If we’re signing him to replace Dylan Smith as a backup fullback then fine. If we’re looking at him as a starting winger then hell no! He can’t even keep his spot in the team getting the spoon!

My biggest concern with putting an offer to JDB is the opportunity cost. Isn’t his court case scheduled for much later in the year? So if we’ve offered him say for example $400k a year, that’s $400k tied up in that offer that we can’t offer to anyone else (like CHN or TPJ - and yes I’m dreaming on TPJ).

Even if he agrees and signs with us tomorrow, we still have to wait for the court matters to finalise, and what if he’s found guilty? Then we respend that money on someone else I guess but have still potentially missed other players who have since signed elsewhere.

We can’t even put an offer to him as he’s still contracted to the Dragons… He won’t play this season so forget about him for now.

These players disgraced the dogs and lost them their sponsors. But they might just forgive and forget and pick them asap out of desperation?

Walters is a smaller version of Brooks. We don’t need him in the halves. He’s a backup hooker.
Madden is an organiser with a good long kicking game. Is he up to first grade? Who knows. The lack of CC is very disappointing for the likes of him as he can’t push his case. But if we drop Brooks he’s the only option we have. He has the potential skillset that we lack, playing Walters just because he’s played a handful of games is just stupid.

Can’t see Brooks getting dropped yet though. Madge took off Harry when he could have taken either Brooks or Reynolds off and both were awful. But rather than hook one he moved Reynolds to hooker and then to lock when Grant came back on

Was Reynolds at lock when Grant came back on? I assumed he got dragged, I didnt see him get involved at all afterwards.

Yes, all four when on the field for about 5 mins.

Truth is Brooks has played one good half against the Cows this season. He’s in his prime, yet still the sidekick rather than the main man. If he stays Madge desperately needs to find an organiser so brooks can go back to just running plays . 1 try assist in 2020 doesn’t even have him in our top 5 playmakers

Clark is as good as he will ever be. And shouldn’t be re-signed. You can find defensive props who cam make more than 5m a hit up out there. Kaide Ellis would be a better no 6 prop in our rotation.
Even at CC level Clark gets dominated in the tackle. If he can’t standout at that level he isn’t going to at NRL level.
Would also be interesting to see the average age of props around the league. The old adage is way past it’s used by date now. Most props are practically done by age 30 now. Average age would likely be 25 and that’s reflected in rep teams where most origin forwards under in the mid to late 20s. It’s a young man’s game now.

Thought Elliott and Keppie from Manly have been going good the last few weeks.

Keppie is quality. One of the best defenders around and his running game is improving every week. Available to talk to come November but I would be surprised if he leaves manly he loves Des.

We targeted him hard before he signed in with manly. Probably still interested. May get more gametime with us.

Notch that up as a win for the Roosters.
Probably will replace everyone’s mate Aubo.

You’d think so if the info is true but then a few people in the know have said he has ties with Madge and would likely come here. I can’t picture him as a Rooster, I really can’t.

You mightn’t be able to picture it, but if Roosters want, they very, very rarely miss.

He wouldn’t even make the Roosters bench. Nor would they offer him what we could. Seems highly doubtful, they have good and cheap prospects for cover too.

He’s only playing due to injury, and that’s how it should be. Not many clubs would get great production out of their 6th choice prop. He’s solid in defence, but that’s about it.
He’s a plodder, another one I’m n not sure why Cleary signed him. Packer has to get picked ahead of film.
