Mbye is probably the worst goal kicker I can recall us ever having. Marsters perhaps the same level.

Their problem is they have no consistent style. Every kick is different. Some he swings strongly from the left to right. Some go straight as an arrow. Some even occasionally reverse swing right to left.

All the greatest goal kickers have a consistent strike. Whether 5m to the side of the posts or right on the sideline they address the ball the same way, have the same pre kick ritual and strike it consistently the same style. Mbye simply doesn’t do this. He just hits the ball and hopes for the best. He’s had enough chances. He should be practising an hour a day after training.

I rate him worse than Marsters as he’s been a goal kicker since his juniors. Esan never kicked but saw the opportunity to add to his skills to cement an nrl spot worked hard and became first choice. I give him credit for taking the initiative to do so, even if it ultimately didn’t work out for him.

With rumours Foran may go to Newcastle

Kurt Mann has really turned into a quality 6, I would be trying to acquire his services if that occurs

If he is so great, why the need for Foran? We don’t need more average. Be patient and wait for our next half from the juniors.

After 9 years of no finals Paws I think patience from many fans has run out. I know I’ve just about had enough.

Yeah I’m sorry teddy23, but BE PATIENT or WE NEED TO HAVE PATIENCE are not a phrases that should be used in this forum anymore, ever!

There’s a young kid playing for Leichhardt Wanderers we’ve got our eye on. Good step. Nice pass. Under 9’s I think.

This has been posted before, but as I wrote earlier we need to let the system work . Siza, pace , step, kicking game and kicks goals. The other option is Sezer or Foran. Foran was good prior to him being busted. SeZer doesn’t have that excuse.

Does anyone know who the fullback he sets up in the first few clips is? Moves exactly like Papenhuyzen, it’s not his brother is it?

Likely to be Flynn angles - Cork or Rizk. Weren’t too many clips featuring a fullback though.

The covid19 shut down is really killing us. We are relying on our young talent coming through and had established a good crop for the first time in years. Having the Nswrl panicking into shutting the comp down immediately means the players who should be pushing for first grade spots next season aren’t. And will likely have to wait an extra year before getting their chance.

Other clubs have established first graders or have had decentralised youngsters coming through for a while. We have been had neither and really needed to see which youngsters stood up this season

Camroux has decent size and speed and is a goal kicking 5/8. What’s not to like? He’s on a development contract next season, as is Rizk is my understanding.

Foran for 300k on a one year or 250k for 2 years and have benji retire is acceptable. Wouldn’t pay more than that, body is too risky

He turned down $400k at Canterbury, he is not coming for less than that.

Dogs didn’t offer him 400k though. That was media talk.

And knights would have zero interest in him they have an experienced half in pearce, and youngsters like ponga, Mann, Watson, crossland and even Hoy. Why would they pay for a has been? More bs media talk

Lawrence will definitely be out of the 17 next week. But there’ll probably be injuries again at some point that will get him the 250. If there isn’t then tough. He’s already played more games for us than he should have.

Thoughts on loaning Liddle out to a club that needs a hooker?

Bronocs have Turpin coming back so may not be interested. Newcastle, Warriors, Canberra perhaps…?

He’s not going to get any gametime with us, but would be good to see him get some fitness up at another club.

Rowdy set up an over lap Twice then realised Nuffie was no where to be seen OPPS ! A wing spot could be available soon …

Nofo was doing his job, taking an early hit up. He can’t be in both places at once.

Your ridiculous post insinuates he was doing something wrong and your name calling is pretty weak too Alan.

No. Nof was most definitely out of position. And it cost us dearly. It wasn’t play 2, it was towards the end of the set. He should be on his wing. That’s his primary job.

Let’s just keep both Grant and Simpkin. Rotate them (eventually) between lock and hooker.

It was the best debut we’ve had since Benji. Off contract soon and other clubs will be circling. Extend him by early September at the latest, but start talks now

That is how the Broncos have got themselves into trouble paying overs on promise, there is no need to rush. If you sign a player at a lower value & then their form sees what they believe is a rise in value a player tends to leave chasing his new value nowadays so no point at this stage.

There’s no need to rush today. There is a need to rush over the next few months. After half a dozen games we’ll get a good idea of where he’s at and suitable contract terms.

No one has suggested overpaying him ridiculous money - just extending his contract so we don’t lose him from the club

Interesting, I don’t call an extra year on my current deal ‘long term’

From the link above.

“I’m really impressed by Michael Maguire and the club overall, and I’m looking forward to pulling on the Wests Tigers colours in the coming years.”

Wests Tigers Head Coach Michael Maguire said he was looking forward to Blore joining the club and seeing his career develop further in the coming years.

“I’m very pleased to secure a player with Shawn’s ability and talent at this point of the year and look forward to watching him develop further,” Maguire said.

“I’ve spent a lot of time with Shawn lately and can see strong leadership qualities in him which I look forward to seeing develop on and off the field in the years to come.”

Both him and Maguire mention future years…

I’m sure they’ve talked about extending his contract and his longer term future at the club. As a kid who hadn’t played first grade yet its understandable to not sign a long term deal straight away. Prove himself a bit and earn more money via hard work and good performances.
