Can’t disclose the amount but is 6 figures.
Now the plan is to throw part of that at Panthers in a bid to release Laurie.
Laurie is the next priority so we can have a full off season with future spin.
Musgrove also offered new 2 year deal.

Good to hear, this was what I had hoped they would do with the commercial arrangement. Thanks Pom.

Welcome to the mighty WT Joe. Hope to see him rekindle his pre 2020 form and play a role in us having a pack that consistently goes forward. Savvy piece of work from the club given the Broncos will be chipping in.
As for JA, being a footnote is a fitting end given the way he is exiting the club.

We have the leverage here. Manly are desperate for forwards. If they want him, it’s got to cost them something. Otherwise he stays in Ron Massey Cup.

Why ? Just play him. JAC is playing for Melbourne next season even though he is leaving. Why does it matter ?

I would have kept him and let him play if it weren’t for the comments about never pulling on the jersey again. I never saw anything from JAC denigrating his current employer.
It matters because this is a reoccurring theme for us and at a certain point we have to draw a line in the sand, not with standing Lee’s public comments about not releasing him without it being to our benefit.

Won’t happen we are snowflakes

If it doesn’t then we (the fans) have every right to be furious. I take Cochise’s point, that long term we need to pressure the NRL to tighten the rules to prevent further occurrences. But, in the short term we have to get something out of Manly.
I’m also at a loss as to why the media aren’t talking about the fact he’s been induced to try to break his contract, just like it wasn’t mentioned with the previous players that have pulled this rubbish. There are currently rules around inducement to break contract, yet it barely rates a mention.

There’s no doubt, WE’RE A SOFT TARGET. !
The MEDIA says we have to release Aloia so that’s what we’ll do.
We’ll probably send him over to Brookvale in a stretch limo and foot the bill, just to appease the pigs at News Corp.
I respect the Storm more for their hard edge demands for a quality replacement in the JAC negotiation. The very player they requested (and we protected) is now pee-ing us up against the walls of The Daily Telegraph building.

The media have not said we need to release him at all. Quit being so sensitive.

No, but they have said we are soft and had we stood our ground with Matterson this wouldn’t have happened again 12 months later.

Matterson was mentally weak, JO is not a star, better off without them.

Yep, I would happy if we could get Manly to provide a dowry to the Panthers that would in turn benefit us in 2021 though.

Wait… you mean the Sharks weren’t playing by the rules in 2016? Just like they weren’t in 2015 and 2017. I’m shocked, and I am sure every other Rugba League fan would be too.

I wonder what’s planned for Leichardt Oval?

Mayor Darcy Byrne says he has been in talks about an upgrade.

If Darcy is on to it we may see something in 10+ years.

I think he already missed the opportunity, when funding for suburban grounds was first mentioned LO was the 1st ground mentioned, the government was talking about full upgrades and rebuilds and good old Darcy comes out and say something along the lines of some new seat would great for LO

I wish I could say I was shocked. I don’t believe he really cares about the 8th.

Well we have all been asking, “please sir give me some Blore” and now he has re-committed. Fantastic news, exciting news! Congratulations Shawn and WT!

Bruh, there should be a warning in the thread title. My poor eyes, I can’t un-see what I just read.

Has anyone seen Clarkeys column on Instagram? He gives his opinion on the tigers and joshA situation and pretty much sides with josh and even references Matto saying it’s our club damaging Josh’s reputation… what’s interesting about it is both Mikalae and Talau liked the post. Makes me think, does anyone know how the team reacted to josh wanting to leave?

I don’t understand how being induced by another club and/or your agent to break your contract with the WT and then acting out like a petulant child results in the club damaging your reputation. What I do understand is that “Clarkey” has a penchant for putting the boot into the WT and his ‘opinion’ is largely irrelevant.

@Everything-WT said in Signing Suggestions & Rumours:

With Ofahengaue looking very likely, I thought I may as well do a potential lineup for next year and here’s the one I’ve come up with

  1. Daine Laurie* / Moses Mbye

  2. David Nofoaluma

  3. Joey Leilua

  4. James Roberts

  5. Asu Kepaoa

  6. Adam Doueihi

  7. Luke Brooks

  8. James Tamou

  9. Jake Simpkin / Jacob Liddle

  10. Alex Twal

  11. Luciano Leilua

  12. Shawn Blore

  13. Joe Ofahengaue

  14. Tommy Talau

  15. Thomas Mikaele

  16. Zane Musgrove

  17. Stefano Utoikamanu

I’ve went with an unpopular choice of having Talau coming off the bench. Mainly because of his versatility from 1-6 and the ability to be a roaming lock, similar to Stephen Crichton for the Panthers earlier in the year

The outside backs really excite me. There’s some young talent mixed with the experience. I’m tipping Brooks to have the best year of his career now that he can take control of the team without having Benji. It’ll certainly help him with the forward pack we’re building. Doueihi at 5/8 will be very good to watch. For me he would play a similar style to Jack Wighton there. Simpkin and Liddle would have to be the favourites for the hooker role as it stands which does excite me. Fingers crossed we can get Daine Laurie a year early

Looks much better than a little over a week ago. Agree with the idea of Joe O at lock. More happenings to take place in the back row before the season starts I think. Hopefully we get lucky and Laurie comes in with Mbye to the 14 jersey.

@balmain-boy said in Harry or JAC for 2022?:

@insideman said in Harry or JAC for 2022?:

Bullgrubs have signed a Melbourne hooker for 2022

Someone from Jersey flegg most likely then. Dogs are a rabble and neither Smith or Grant are free to negotiate with anyone at this stage.

Dogs fans can barely read. Don’t know why people take any sense in what they say

They also seem to believe Trent Barrett is a messiah and that players go weak at the knees and sign immediately if he tries to recruit them.
