Im dumbfounded that most of these teams have Masters with Noffa… Masters ball playing is devastating when Thompson is sniffing around him. Masters shouldnt be used to fix Noffas defensive issues. The old saying is “never weaken one position to strengthen another”. The Noffa issue needs to be worked out anther way.
Benji was good to start the year. I think he was probably not expecting to play as much as he did with Grub basically becoming a permanent rehab resident all year. The wear and tear took a toll on him as the year rolled on.
Farah, well despite how I felt about him going and coming back I can’t ignore that we are a better side with him in it, and he would be one of the first chosen next season.
The fact that Farah will be in the top 17 next year is what concerns me. He’s not just a ‘back up’ as people are claiming. He’s the best Cleary could come up with to try and plug a hole in our side, but he’s not good enough. There were better hookers off contract.
With Brooks,Reynolds,Gamble and Mybe all halves, and already on contract, I see no need for Marshall at all when our three quarter line is bare.
Whom else was off contract? I know Seggy was, but he isn’t an 80 minute hooker either.
Think Mich Rein has 2019 option in his favour.
It is dependent on what they are earning and their expectations. Both should be prepared to play a lot of reserve grade, and be on no more than 200k per year.
Benji must have fast forwarded through a fair few games, been under the influence, or wearing rose coloured glasses.
Im not afraid to say that Robbie who plays to instructions is an asset…. its when Robbie gets too big for his boots and trys to overplay and make decisions that he is a massive detriment to team success. Guy is a magician at making it look like he is the only one trying, as he chokes the options out of those around him.
I dont think we want another hooker on the books for multiple years… either Liddle gets it together and becomes durable to the rigors of the game, or we move onto bigger better things without the burden of a part timer eating up the cap allocated to the position. Robbie is a single year option, its not the end of the world… especially if we are about to enter a new coaching era as his contract comes to conclusion.
We aren’t in the same market place, hence why TPAs need to go
Same sport, same city. It’s exactly the same market place. They just do it better.
They Rort the cap via shonky TPAs
Why have they got TPAs and we don’t?
Have a read of this Gallagher… if the numbers are correct, then it isnt the TPA’s seperating the Roosters and us. It wouldnt be a stretch to assume that the team on over $300k is the Roosters, but its a tough pill to swallow to believe that their squad is only $300k better than ours. There is something else going on, as they are somehow able to get from last place to the top in an offseason, and then stay there with a squad they can keep at will. This is one article, I could dig out a few that show that we arent millions behind Roosters in legit TPAs…
I ran into Moses Mbye on the weekend asked him if Clearly is staying he said he doesn’t know either way …I find it terrible that he doesn’t know so that’s two players in the space of a week that doesn’t know or can not answer the question
Then I asked him what his opinion of Brett Hodgson is he spoke very highly of him and said he is going to be a great first grade Coach I did not ask about Brett coaching first grade that was his Moses words
He also said Josh Reynolds is in Melbourne getting rehab on his shoulder
Moses is such a nice man so friendly and well spoken
Body language ha ha ha when I ask about Cleary he took a step back when I asked about Hodgson he took a step forward and smiled
Thansk for your continued updates. THis circus wont end until IVan comes out without a written statement and says what his intentions are. has he signed an agreement with panthers in 2021? what did he and the panthers talk about? This is worse than the JT/Farah saga.
Crap TP - what an agenda you have.
Cleary and the Tigers have a contract for the next two years - get over it!!! Lol
What agenda do I have? Enlighten us lol.
I don’t have to get over it. Why would I want a coach who is being forced to be here on a legality.
Ivans future as a coach is on the line…. if he runs immediately everytime Gus whistles, his name, which is his schtick, goes down the toilet. Players will know he bailed on Mats and Packer… Unless he becomes a life coach at the riff, every job he throws his hat in the ring for will ask him the question…
I doubt there is a shred of legality over shaddowing his decision. He plys his trade through integrity, and knows he wont get it back if he runs out the door. Extension may be alot to ask though.
He hasn’t even gone that far, with “intend” being the limit of his commitment to WT and not a word on any discussion at either club.
Scott Morrison stated words to the same effect recently, but of course, nothing to see there either. People avoid questioning and refer to previous bland non descriptive statements so that they do not get caught lying, simple.
Yeah as i said earlier, hope these guys standing up for him are ok with a few i told you so’s
You’re like a kid hanging out fo Xmas… Whatever makes you feel good.
Some here seem like they have an urgent need to be proved correct… One massive pissing contest.
Body language experts, English language experts… I’m just a footy fan that will wait until whatever happens happens
Nice impersonal post, not playing the man at all.
Not like you Ink
not really patriot…. you lined yourself up to rub it in if he goes. I dont have a horse in the Cleary stays or goes race, but rest assured if he sticks around, you will hear about it often.
I cant believe this is even still an issue for some.
I followed Balmain and would love to see the boys run around at Liechardt once a year probably playing Souths or the Roosters, and i would be just as satisfied to see the lads in the old Victa playing Manly at Campletown.
The merger should never have been a bitter relation between the two clubs, It should have been(and from the top)embraced……2 historic teams, 2 sets of fans, double the resources and junior development.
I for one love that our two clubs survived together rather than dying alone.
In a nutshell, to circumvent the dollar for dollar deal between the Wests parties and Balmain, Wests Campbelltown sold their stake to Ashfield, which allowed them to funnel monies into the Joint venture as a sponsor instead. Wests Ashfield picked up the slack funding Balmians Juniors programs and affiliates, and in turn Campbelltown took up financial duties regarding the ISP team which in the process alleviated the financial stresses on the Wests Tigers club.
The real problem is the fans carrying on like muppets at any opportunity. We arent the only club who doest share logos with our ISP feeder teams… Mounties, Newtown and Bears are all affiliated…
The one positive is that this is being discussed in a thread about us being financially sustainable, something we wouldnt be if the Wests Tigers carried the ISP teams financial strain of alone.
Our books are balancing because of this deal. There isnt any backroom takeover afoot… It was a shrewd business deal done in the best interest of the Wests Tigers. People need to grow up.
