Yes another scoop from insideman with benji to the chooks. His latest scoop is the jet will be given a crack at fullback
That would be interesting. He has good passing and obviously pace to burn, but has he played there before? Positioning and defence at the back is very difficult
He actually played there a bit in under 20s, not in senior grade though
Actually started his first game of FG their under our very own Madge Maguire
Mansour is on less then 400k at Penrith so given they need to get rid of him we are prob looking at paying under 200k/yr for last years grand final winger who averaged 180 meters, 21 line breaks and had 65 tackle breaks in 2020. He is a great trainer who will set a great example for our young players and will mean our sets will get off to great starts on either side of the field plus his defence is good.
McInnes will be 27 in Feb and if we sign him for 2022 then he will be 28 which is fine. We let Liddle go because he hasnt made it yet while Simpkin is only 19 so 8 years younger then McInnes. So a couple of years for McInnes even 3 if its 2021 then you bring Simpkin along slowly because even at the end of McInnes 3 years then Simpkin is only 22 (same age as Harry Grant was in 2020).
Just bit of chat that may or may not have any legs!
Interesting info ugh for a post here I suppose.
Would be a huge signing…Just imagine…
no I must not read into this too much…
If Mcinnes comes it is to play hooker and so it should be. If Ben Hunt is to play hooker at dragons they might be letting McInnes go and we would prob let Liddle go
Question: would people rather Widdop (1y)/Noffa (3y) or Laurie (4y)/Mansour(2y). If I had to choose I would probably take Laurie/Mansour
Hard call. Both scenarios have upside and downside.
On Nofoaluma, I really want him to re-sign as I value loyalty but if I’m honest, as footballers I thing him and mansour are interchangeable
Certainly not sure of why, but Nofo hasn’t seemed to be showing loyalty atm?
But I do think wingers are the easiest position to change, quick blokes are coming through every day.
I’ve heard Nofoaluma is getting itchy feet about wanting to play semi final footy and also thinks his value has gone up. You could call that disloyal but you could also call it fair. I think we are heading towards finals footy but we regressed on field in 2020 and maybe he’s had enough. I hope he stays though.
One hot season and he’s out to play semis? He’s the only other long term player aside from Brooks that can be associated with the repeated past failures. Bit rich to have good season and then start getting bullish about wanting finals footy. If that’s his attitude he can go. Stay and build something here, or do a Tedesco/Moses/Woods and parachute into an already successful outfit. Good luck.
There is a reason why this club has not played finals in 10 seasons …Nofoaluma should sign or move on ,obviously has tickets on himself ,wIngers are a dime a dozen Bigger / faster and can tackle ! Brooks
will be lucky to see out the full season in the top grade.
How about instead of bashing our halfback we support him…how many dally m position awards have we got in our current squad? Exactly
In a season where basically only nofa and Luciano had a good year, Brooks seems to be the common go to man for criticism
Luke winning the halfback Dally M in 2018 based on five tries, 10 try assists, 15 line-break assists is hardly star-studded stats. It was a weak field and he was the best of an average bunch
I like Luke but he’s definitely not proven to be a top 5 halfback or leader over his 7 year career
The writing is on the wall, he needs to show up in 2021 or shuffle on
Boring stats such as repeat sets & 1 on 1 tackles aren’t highlighted though which were his bread and butter that year. Whether you think it was a weak year or not, it will go down in history books as him being the dally m half that year
Yeah sure, but like I said he needs to show up this year because he hasn’t the last two
We need him to lead from the front, however I just don’t think he has it in him
2019 was his best year better then his dally m winning one. 2020 wasnt good but I put a lot of it down to not dealing with covid
Hope he proves me wrong
Suprised there hasnt been a thread yet…
Moneyball…speed and leadership.
Ask the Boss: Episode 3
Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe is joined by Elite Member John MacDonagh to discuss the latest on the recruitment and retention front as well as an update on the club’s Membership heading in to the new year
I liked the first two but not a fan of this one. I don’t really need to hear from members about things. I’d rather just hear from Pascoe/Madge/Hartigan.
An attempt to try and sell more elite membership packages perhaps
Well i loved today segment and it got me on the membership page looking st upgrading my membership.
