I’ve got a couple of questions?
Why is everyone in China wearing masks? While WHO are telling us all do not wear a mask unless you have been infected?
Medical researchers are also investigating a third method of transmission other than an infected person sneezing/coughing in your personal space or making contact with an infected surface. It is now thought that micrometer particles can float in the air for extended periods. This theory would explain the relatively high number of cases which remain under source investigation?

I’m pleased WHO are now reviewing their recommendations regarding the wearing of masks.
Stay safe people.

I’d say it shows just what influence China has on the WHO rather than any practical benefit of everyone wearing masks and gloves.

China’s influence on WHO? Maybe? I was thinking, China weren’t forthcoming with information they had on COVID-19 and how it spreads? WHO’s rethink came following the results of Japanese researchers making their discovery public. We still don’t know what the actual situatoon is in China, but they have been wearing masks for months. I’ve seen the way they treat citizens for petty reasons, so I have no doubt their citizens would be fearful for a number of reasons right now. Wouldn’t surprise me to learn they are ditching their mobiles so they can’t be tracked?

I think it was the deputy Prime Minister in Japan this last week who suggested WHO should be renamed the Chinese Health Organisation after kowtowing to them.

As I understand it Okunbor met his young lady at school during a visit. CHN wasn’t there and met his girl working at her job?
Obviously both in trouble for taking them back to the team hotel but what Okunbor did was much worse.

One positive note is that V’Landys has pushed Toddy to the side and taken control.
Imagine if that idiot Beattie was still in charge?
Also looks like Wayne Pearce won’t be losing his job on the board anytime soon after V’Landys talked him up while being interviewed on Fox.

All those young hotties finally caught up to you CK?
Seriously… Best of luck champ… Keep the distance… Just keep away from others… Hope you have plenty of support

Thanks Ink.
Not very attractive to the ladies with a feeding tube hanging out of my stomach at present lol
At least I’ll be like everyone else in one respect - missing the pub.

Thanks for the kind remarks to you all.
I’m unlucky to be in this situation at a time when there’s a lot of extra things to worry about apart from getting through the cancer.
I was looking forward to the footy to help keep me sane (if you can be considered sane following the mighty WestsTigers) but now that’s gone too lol
There remains one constant though… I can always rely on my fellow supporters on here to keep me occupied and amused!

If you ever need an argument to take your mind off current events you know where to find me 😉

Thanks CB, I’ll still be up for some banter.
Although I admit I’m somewhat opinionated I don’t begrudge people their own views. (except the bizarre ones lol)
No matter the differences between us all we
share the one planet.

Simple situation for me.
I’m not a young man and start radiation and chemo this week.
If I catch it in the next 3 or 4 months I will most probably die.
Isolation, apart from trips to the hospital 5 days a week, is something I just have to do.

One thing is for sure in regards to Harry T contribution. The NRL considers him or did consider him too close to the club for 3rd party arrangements. That tells me he isn’t just a fan.

Would be a very interesting scenario if he offered to buy the club.
How that would affect our clubland backing I’m not sure.
Although he’s thrown money into the merger for 20 years he was always a Balmain boy.

There. are two good articles one on 9 and the other news about the developing cruise ship story in WA. One ship with mostly Germans aboard has a reported 70 passengers with the virus. Since the demographic is toward elderly and the plan to fly them home appears no longer feasible, what happens? This situation could overwhelm available ICU facilities in WA. I suggest the Germans arrange medevac flights home.

A third story confirms the cruise industry is in trouble and the filthy conditions found by new Australian passengers aboard a ship.

I don’t think medevac flights have that kind of range, or anything close to it. Resources are going to be stretched across the globe. They’re people and they’re here so we should just help them and forget about nationality.

The German government will arrange and pay to get them home, same as our government is doing for our citizens.
On another note - considering the number of pandemics to hit the world it’s amazing how every travel insurer has a clause that gets it out of paying anything to people who had tours cancelled or had to pay for extra flights.

I have German friend currently stuck in Sri Lanka. Germany has told her “that’s a sad story, good luck” (except in German of course)

Maybe she should tell them she’s an asylum seeker.
