Some caller on 2sm reported this arvo Corey Thompson to Penrith…anyone heard anything about this

Most callers on 2SM are already six schooners deep by this point. I used to listen to Talkin’ Bulldogs for a laugh but it’s beyond that now.

Absolutely shocking show - gave up on them ages ago. I can’t stand listening to know all Tunks - he waffles on as though he is in the know and he hasn’t got a clue.

Tunks is a spanner. The golf day where Blocker and Tunks were both speakers, Blocker told funny stories and got laughs, Tunks bitched about how much money players make now and how soft they are.

Conspiracy theory - I keep wondering why roosters were so keen to gift us a fullback.
Only thing I can come up with is Tedesco is approachable nov this year.

No way Tedesco will ever come back. He’s won two premierships in two years at the club he loved as a kid and has everything paid for him. As long as he’s fit Uncle Nick will sure he’ll stay.

He’s gone and will stay gone.

Helps to have attachments to know what’s is being spoken about

He is still a pussy , he was bawling his eyes out that night in question , you drink with him CB , get him to put his kids lives on it and say it didn’t happen

What attachments? I took it all down from Rugby League Project’s website.

Why didn’t you just say that Gee smashed him that time and had him in his pocket?

I don’t drink with him, I said he frequented my old local and said he was a nice bloke to have a chat with and that I’d never seen him cause any trouble there. And even if I did drink with him, I’m not 12 and wouldn’t feel the need to have one over a bloke who has probably done more for his community than I ever will.

Interesting read including what dad and Latrell think about Maguire

After reading that story I’m glad he’s gone to the crap hole club he belongs at.
I’ll leave it at that so I don’t get booted off the forum.

Who would of thought that the Roosters showed our club some respect and help in the LM saga ! Unlike that low rent club at Redfern …especially when there greatest ever signing was not pulled into line basically intimating OUR club is garbage and would of been one of his greatest mistakes he could of made !
Lets hope the players at our club do not forget what was said and how low and insignificant that the club at Redfern think there talent and the jersey the wear actual is !

They only showed “respect” and “helped” us because it was in their best interests.

I don’t think any of us are pleased with the recruitment.
On the back of 10+ years of failure we really needed to do better in the player market, especially considering the warchest.
Not to say our management didn’t try their hardest.

Frankly, our roster is arguably the worst in the comp and to be honest, one the worst I’ve seen in 40 years I’ve followed Wests/Balmain.

If we finish the dreaded 9th or 10th again it will be because we had some encouraging performances (which are inevitable over the course of a season), and this may once again serve to vindicate the players, management and some fans that we have the right squad and are heading in the right direction. Obviously we all want to win games and compete, but let’s not kid ourselves, every win with this roster is just another chance for us to pull the wool over our eyes and thus walk blindly in a fool’s paradise.

I’d almost rather us finish 15th or 16th and in doing so recognize the need for a serious roster overhaul than go through the emotional turmoil of nearly making it, getting heartbroken again while having to justify our roster at the end of next season.

  1. It’s no worse than last year.

  2. Recruitment hasn’t finished yet.

Great points. In fact with Leilua musgrove and hopefully Stefano it is way better than last year on the additions.

The pack minus hooker is fairly strong.

I’m liking the look of our pack a lot! It’s better than Souths pack imo.

If Souths can’t get Arrow early I am really interested to see how they fare next year. The game is won up front so without a quality pack I don’t believe their backs will shine as well as they could.

May as well forget about Stefano, Parra will not let him go.

Based on what? The Pom said it was almost done and Pascoe said we have two spots left (which means Stefano already has one)

Eels get an 18th man for Origin released.
Souths get a superstar released from their fiercest rival.

If our blokes can’t get a 19yo released from a development contract then we need entirely new people doing these negotiations.

We were supposed to be in an advantageous position from releasing Matterson as well. Remember how that went? We wound up with $1.5m with no one of worth to offer it to (granted that Matterson only represented $375K of that, but still, it was obvious we were trying to loosen up funds for a target.)

So we could have held onto Matterson to trade with Stefano and held onto Marsters to offer to Melb for JAC.

Could have. Should have. Would have.

Didn’t.

Expecting the pack to have a bit of punch with our additions.
