Hope for once the peanut got something right!

Dufty is several notches down from the likes of Mitchell but he does possess raw speed (something we’ve lacked since JAC left) and he does have a kind of “x-factor lite” so might be an OK pickup at the right price.

If Mitchell wants to kill his career stone dead, a move to the Toronto Wolfpack or, for that matter, Gold Coast, would be a great way to do it.

$900k a year for Moylan? No wonder they’re not too distressed about him (maybe) moving on. You’d reckon we’d want a fair chunk of that kicked in by Cronulla to even think of taking this bloke on.

What sort of coin would Moylan be on at the Sharks and are they likely to contribute if he goes to another club?

If Mitchell or his agent wish to pursue a NEW deal with us, he or his agent are free to call and, according to our new Chair, we will at least listen to what they have to say. Having had many years involvement in major contract negotiations, this is a perfectly reasonable position to take. If they don’t call, so be it. If they do call, but take too long about it, they run the risk we will by then have spent our money elsewhere.

Joey Leilua can be a match winner on his day and now that Canberra have signed Curtiss Scott from the Storm, he might be interested in joining his brother at WT. Madge should be able to sort out any of his occasional indisciplinary issues.

Wouldn’t surprise me all that much if Mitchell’s people contacted Pascoe sometime soon seeking further talks. Latrell’s options, for season 2020 at least, look pretty limited at the moment. What we should do if this happens is another matter entirely.

This mess can be traced directly to what now looks like terrible misjudgement of LM’s marketability by those advising him. He rejects a pretty decent “centre money” offer of $800k from the Chooks which results in them pulling the deal and, essentially, telling him to get lost! His representatives no doubt thought Latrell would be knocked over in the rush of other clubs offering him megabucks deals! He got only one formal offer-ours! Very embarrassing! No wonder they’re hanging out hoping for more interest. This has the capacity to interfere with our pre season, if it hasn’t done already, and needs to be sorted quickly. Hope our club has at least gently nudged Latrell’s people to make up their minds-and soon!

The only consistent feature of this whole drama is that the Chooks are still reported to be saying he won’t be released to Souths in 2020 but he can be released and join anyone else for 2020 and beyond. If that’s still true, a move to the Bunnies starting next year won’t be possible. Does he cop it sweet and hang around, maybe playing CC for another year in a club that doesn’t seem to want him there and join the Bunnies in 2021 assuming they have the cap space then to accommodate him or does he take our offer now while it’s still on the table.
