If we get Laurie and he can make that fullback spot his then we are looking good. Mbye off the bench gives us cover all over the park. Simpkins is missing out but will he really be ready at 19.

Mbye off the bench balances the whole squad…

He can cover
1
3
4
6
7
9

He is not great at any of them, but he is a near perfect utility at 14.

Mate, you should see Mbye at training. Maybe he always trains like this, maybe he’s finally injury free but he looks like he’s desperate for a starting job. He is flying.

Mbye was very good at FB for about ten games for the Dogs. I thought he linked really well there for us in the game or so he was there in 2020. The main issue seems to be the high ball? I.e. he can’t catch them 🙂

Mbye 1 / Laurie 14
Laurie 1 / Mbye 14

Both work actually as Laurie can cover all those spots also.

The new, four-year deal will see the 27-year-old remain in Wests Tigers colours until at least the end of the 2025 NRL season.

So, it is this year AND four more…

Sigh.

You sound over the moon

Will be very happy to be proven wrong, but I think it is a terrible deal.

And I like Nofa, the person and clubman.

But Nofa the winger is, at best, around 10th in the comp…and bottom few for defensive IQ.

Personally, I feel strongly that you don’t give a poor D winger a long, long deal.

This is a forum, and we can agree to disagree…and both hope you and others are right.

Great news!

@Jedi_Tiger and @Pawsandclaws will be thrilled!

really happy @weststigerman especially the 4 year deal very exciting…
it is lovely we can resign nofo to a nice long 4 year contract his defence has always been rock solid.

Give it a rest. He’s been offered a fair deal and that’s all that matters.

Some people just hate Nofo, I don’t get it either

No one ‘hates’ Nofa…let’s not be silly about this.

But his D has been attrociuos no matter who we paired him with…so, either he can’t read overlaps, or every single center inside him was to blame.

Nofa and BJ ranked second worst for D last year in the NRL…the only combo worse, ironically, was Esan Marster’s and his winger.

I hope I am really wrong and he turns into a defensive force. But too many fans seem to see Nofa’s stats and not realise he gives up more than he provides.

4 - 8 = minus 4.

Official release says “until the end of the 2025 season”…

So, that is actually a four year extension…this year plus four.

Five more years of Nofa…

Some will celebrate…

If he does not fix his D…this will be a disastrous signing. Sorry to be negative, but all the analytics have him ranked around the 10th best winger in the comp / bottom few for D.

You don’t give a 27 yo winger ranked that low 4 (5!?!) years…not if you want to win. Even with all their success, the Storm never once offered a winger that type of deal for a reason.

Christ some people are unbelievable. 31 is not over the hill for an NRL player unless their body is breaking down. I swear this site is full of 12 year olds sometimes. It’s a good deal.

Morris twins say hi. Both very good outside backs still and they are like 35 lol

The Morris twins have off the charts “footy IQ”. They know how to play, enormous experience, know all the short cuts, and both have always had top class D.

Nofa…does not have any of those things.

His footy IQ is terrible and he basically relies on athleticism. It is not fair to compare them.

Only an ‘average’ club would be pandering to a non rep / never played finals / no D player like Nofa.

He wants four years? On rep level pay.

WALK AWAY…now.

Please.

Souths forum reporting they’ve offered Mansour 2 years, 2nd in their favour.

We offered two years and got rejected, interested to see what happens. A bigger club like Souths has a lot more appeal than us

It has nothing to do with being ‘bigger’…he would be looking at it in terms of what will happen in year 3 of a deal.

Penrith have told him Stains will start…thus they are not an option long term.

We have AJ, Talau, Hoffman who will all be FG ready (soon, hopefully) but certainly by year 3.

Souths have a vet team who will compete for the comp the next few years and have just lost a few of their best young prospects. I.e. there is a fairly defined roll for a vet winger a few years there.
