Bring back dwyer. One armed he could still hit harder than some of these clowns
Big shame he got injured. Was a great young player. Upsets me to still see his arm in a sling in the coaches box
They never learned their lesson from Esan Marsters. I like Luciano but if he’s in your top 5 players pay wise you have serious issues.
Trade deal for Luki who’s off contract next year…
I like that too. Luki is apparently a target. Need @tigerballs to give us an update?
Jumped on the cows forum. They are worried about losing Luki or Nanai in a swap. Both off contract.
Looks like we have recruited well from QLD with the focus on pathways
The Wests Tigers have six of the best – Queensland schoolboys merit prop Herman Tofaeono (Keebra Park SHS), 2021 joint Justin Hodges medallist Chris Faatugu (Marsden SHS), outstanding Wavell No. 13 Junior Taungatua (Wavell SHS), middle forward Mou Taumaletila (Marsden SHS) and utility Kienan Tempest (Marsden SHS) who is a David Stagg clone.
Throw in brilliant Kirwan SHS outside back talent Dudley Dotoi from Far North Queensland and you have a bag full of good kids headed to the Wests Tigers.
This is where we have recruited well - in juniors. I believe within the next 3 years, we will become a consistent top 4 club because we are building the club the right way.
Not sure if posted but we have signed some young guy, Sam Elara from Toowoomba. Anyone know anything about him?
@willow said in Signing Suggestions & Rumours:
So Elliot to Raiders.
Tapine to the Tigers.
What makes you so sure about this?
@Cultured_Bogan told me…
How about Josh Hodgson instead…
He’s a strong chance of leaving eh…
I would prefer Tapine.
Hodgson is going to the Titans
Not from what I was told yesterday.
Where is Liddle going then? Released?
A few clubs need a 9…
There is some deals that could be made.
Man I don’t like it. Hodgson is broken, so is Liddle. But have a soft spot for Lidz. He worked really hard to get back
kills me to say this i thought we looked better when Mbye went to dummy half, i thought his passing was crisper then Liddle, i am unfortunately seeing nothing in Liddle. His passing was aweful today, he is going backwards
Quite a lot of our players have regressed in their standard of play. How long can WTs afford to stick with Maguire?
Depends on how you look at it Utoikamanu, Laurie, Blore, Maumalo, Luciano, Douihei, Twal, Mikalele, Ofehengaue are players who play for Madge.
The group that doesn’t Mbye, Brooks, BJ, Liddle, Nofa.
Which group is the club trying to move on? That will tell you what will happen with Madge.
The players regressing under madge are the players that have to be moved on not the coach.
The narrative is wrong it’s being pushed by media and people are jumping on it without realising the issue it’s our senior players.
Our playing group is better than what our performances and place on the ladder suggest.
The issue is with Maguire and he should be sacked asap.
I disagree with pretty much everything you said.
This is the same playing group that Maguire has to a large extent signed or re-signed. You involve yourself in a blame shifting exercise. Put Maguire on the market and no club would want him. Put Brooks and Liddle on the market and plenty of clubs would be interested.
I wonder how many supporting Maguire actually have a vested interest in doing so - you know snouts - trough?
We are a bottom 2 roster as was called by a majority of experts at the start of the year. It’s a rebuild. Our level of mediocrity predates Maguire as no one has had the balls to take a long term approach. It’s about living in reality and not some fantasy land where we have a good team and the coach can’t coach.
I’ve heard this from many wishful thinkers.
The roster is average and will only be rebuilt slowly through youth.
If there’s an upgrade I’m all for changing the coach. There won’t be one, no good young coach is coming here. Flanagan is the only realistic option. I’d prefer they stick with Madge.
At the end of the day whatever decision the management with Sheens on board makes will be the right one but using arguments like Madge’s roster etc is a joke. He can only sign who wants to come here and the mess was not created by him.
Well said tyga
I’ve been saying this for ages
Some people just don’t get it though and never will
They have blinkers on
Madge may not be the answer in the end but changing coaches over the years has got us no where
Everything bar the NRL squad is heading in the right direction
Just need to wait for the youngsters to develop
I agree. Though Madge has his deficiencies (which would be mitigated by a half competent assistant or two) it isn’t his fault in my opinion that we can’t attract talent.
Had a little browse through the roosters forum for Fantasy/Draft purposes and found a thread on the Butcher Bros. In relation to Egan being rumoured to us there were some interesting responses…
Quote 1 - “Money does talk, but how much value does that hold against learning your craft in a better system at such a young age.
If he remains with us for another 3 years his value will be much higher at the end of his next contract than if he were to go to the tigers and fall prey to their player management.”
Quote 2 - “ I can see why they’re interested - he’s been great the last month but can’t see that going to the tigers is a good career move at this stage”
Quote 3 - “ I would love to see the Tigers have success but if I was Egan I would stay away from them”
Even with AD when he signed with us said that all his friends/family told him to accept his Roosters offer and to decline the Tigers offer (which I think we offered more $).
To me, our recruitment (or lack thereof) doesn’t seem like a Madge problem, but a club problem.
Club needs to rebrand itself to the public. Getting better facilities via the COE and hopefully the doco series can stimulate public opinion to see us in a more favourable light.
Madge isn’t going great in many areas, though the recruitment troubles were conceived long before he got here in my opinion.
Hard to argue with any of those quotes. Are you sure you were on the Rorters forum? lol
Funnily enough (or it’s not really funny actually) but the biggest way we can turn around our poor image is to win and to do that we need better players (like Butcher). If he came over, we could attract another, and another, and then finally be a better team.
Arrogant bastards. How quickly they forget the 80s and 90s, and a good chunk of the 2000s.
Had a read of the chookpen forum. They would be spewing if they lost Egan Butcher. We have apparently offered him the starting 13 according to one of there posters. Hopefully @the_pom can let us know ASAP if we have jagged him or not
Well 2023 is starting to look better, but dare I ask what about next season?
Not looking good at all
More movement at the station coming in the next week or two.
Give us a clue Master
Nothing new Cotric should get done next week along with Stefano being extended. Also a big hope of Nanai getting signed for 2023 and being swapped with Luciano. Both are managed by Sam Ayoub whose close with Madge, Sheens and Robbie.
Ray Stone is in the outer at the Eels wouldn’t surprise me if we brought him back as Liddle will seek a release given Api signed. Liddle may end up at the Eels.
Love all those moves. Stone is solid and used to be with us as a junior.
Simpkin is a simp for his girlfriend.
As long as they’re together, he isn’t leaving Sydney.
She has like 290k followers on IG.
@Demps whos the better player Api or Reed?
I rate them both…
If it was up to me, I’d go Reed due to he’d have more longevity from here on out.
I’m happy with Api though.
Grant is my favourite tho
I would have preferred Reed but it depends on $$$
Robust actions hmmmm. This is delta all over again
It appears more contagious that Delta but potentially not as virulent. We also handled Delta like champions due predominantly to high vaccination rates.
This is not an anti-vaxxer narrative.
‘We also handled Delta like champions due predominantly to high vaccination rates…’
No doubt you have factual data that proves this?
The population was locked up and isolated from each other you clown. Vaccinated people are dying. There is no proof that vaccination is the ‘champion’ ingredient.
You are an absolute myth mate, you avoid every legitimate argument that you don’t have a favourable answer for and divert to your standard reset responses of ‘politics’, ‘accepted science’ and all the cliché negative stigma crap.
You cherry pick your battles blatantly.
Constantly yelling that no one gets to claim false facts, but here you go doing that exact thing.
It was the lockdowns that stopped the spread, not the vaccines.
And if I understand it correctly, it is the vaccines reaching a high enough rate which will stop (or limit) the lockdowns.
The vaccines will be ineffective against Omicron, then back to lockdowns to stop the spread
WoW!!! for such a strong statement as “the vaccine will be ineffective against Omicron” @Eyeofthetiger-0 you must know someone special that can supply you with the proof of this and not being available to most other ordinary people.
It’s simple logic. Just take the blinkers off and take a look around. This corona crap has no end in sight.
Isaac Luemelueme has turned up at Bulldogs training after leaving Storm for family reason no announcement from Rorters I mean the new rorters apparently he’s a former Bulldog junior I’ll ask one question where did they get the money for him???
Release Cotric and Thompson to us
Got my booster booked in for next week! how good!
thank god for the vaccines, they have really saved the year!
Sounds like you have shares in the vax companies Kul…your pretty clear on how great they are…
unfortunately mate I dont have as much confidence in something that you have to be coerced into getting while it is still in a trial status and Greg Hunt even stated they wont know the full results until after 2023…big punt on an experimental jab mate…
Don’t even know if it is effective against Omicron which will become the dominate strain. Waste of time getting a booster
