Was it Scott that gave Dylan Walker a few smacks in the head ?
If so , I like him
He might be looking for a job, so Walker’s missus could employ him as a bodyguard.
The Doueihi deal is skewed by the ridiculous contract that Souths gave him. If he weren’t already getting $600K for 2021 under that deal I don’t imagine many would be saying that we should be paying $600K for him for 2021, or that he would have any right to demand that sort of salary. Those being critical of the club not just leaping in and taking on that salary should consider what kind of salary they thought he was on or would have justified before that $600K figure came out. I seriously doubt anyone would have thought he was contracted for anything more than $400K at the absolute most.
Agree 100% but the flip side is that if it wasnt for that ridiculous contract, h wouldnt be potentially available now.
There has to be a reason he is on such a ridiculous contract, they must have been biddig against someone. Roosters I wonder?
Depends on the timing of the deal …if it was just post GI’s retirement and not having a viable option for the future it could make sense
They have LM now …paying 600 k for a now benchie is ridiculous
Same as Paperhuyzen …we never would have let him go if we knew Tedesco was going
Timing timing timing folks
Then why wasn’t paps picked up start of 2019 when storm were offering him to everyone , can’t keep using that Tedesco excuse
Lack of cap space most likely governing any potential play for him at that point, if the coach was interested at all.
They can’t offer a contract before November, in which case we would have to release him - not worried. I’m glad he’s getting payed an extra 35k or so a year minimum upgrade to be in the top 30 - he deserves it for his hard work & training over the summer. He’ll be in prime shape come 2021 he’s just honouring his contract. In the meantime, Parramatta recruits: Salesi Fainga’a (Fiji), Tyler Field (Aus schools), Joe Taipari (NZ/touch), Ejay Toeava (NZ/cousin of All Black Isaiah Toeava) & William Kei (NZ/cousin of Jonah Lomu) - the last two guys are highly rated juniors
Are you saying all the players you mentioned at the end are signed by us?
@Ponyo provided similar information last year and these guys are training with us.
Thoughts on big Twal at lock and young Walters as a second hooker?
Reckon you need a Taylor or Eisenhuth in there somewhere to manage the workload.
So Parra has announced they have upgraded him to top 30 for this year…
Question - We have signed him for 2021 onwards but are the eels allowed to talk him out of it so he stays with them OR does he need us to release him as he has signed with us?
I know you are all saying its no chance but this is the Eels we are talking about… Pure scum
If the WT three year contract has been registered, then under the current rules, Parramatta would not be able to have discussions with him for beyond this year until November 1st 2022.
Parramatta Eels young forward Stefano Utoikamanu has been upgraded from his development contract and will join the top 30 squad until the end of the 2020 season.
Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said, “Stefano is an exciting young prospect who has been training really well during the pre-season and has earnt this opportunity.”
“He is held in such high regard from his peers and the broader Eels Club. We are all looking forward to his contribution throughout this season as we strive to do better than what we achieved last year.”
From eels twitter
A Parramatta Eels junior, Stefano is an Australian Schoolboys representative and played in the NSW Under 18s Origin game last year in a man-of-the-match performance.
Slimers are a bunch of low lifes
from eels forum
“i reckon he will backflip on Tigers. He will see success with the Eels and not want to leave.”
" Bittersweet.kinda hope he is a useless plodder."
Not too fussed about him not coming this season, particularly so now that he is part of the top squad, as it will have him more prepared to take a spot in the 17 with us to start next season.
That just killed what was left of Lawrence’s NRL career.
Why? Is BJ gonna play back row?
Lawrence will be in the team.
Do not think Rowdy is a first up starter more CC injury replacement at best!
Probably correct, but as he will likely have had a full preseason leading to the trials, I am not writing him off just yet, as the guy is a competitor.
If we get JAC now then wow our centre/wing pairing could arguably be the best in the league if you ask me:
- David Nofoaluma
- Tommy Talau
- BJ Leilua
- Josh Addo-Carr
That’s a weak No. 3, to declare best in the league - one game in the NRL and destroyed our hooker for a year.
Yeah, remember him taking out Liddle’s legs well, as my last playing minute on a footy field was spent in much the same way.
I would really like for many of the lineups on here to be correct in allowing the pack to be more dynamic this coming season, but I struggle to see them having the combined workrate required, without either of the generally omitted Elijah or Matt getting through their normal mountain of work in the middle.
Doueihi at no.1 and Thomo on the wing will make our team stronger. imo
Except he will be more exposed defensively to the new not touching the attacker in the air rule.
More exposed than Thomson?
Sorry, I was referring to Cory and omitted writing “there” before defensively above, as I think he will be targeted more out wide than if at the back.
I laugh at those on the forum who demand fact and evidence. NO! We are passionate supporters! WE WANT TO WIN DAMMIT! And every thought we have is based on whether a club decision brings us closer to winning or not. Irrational but passionate
Similar to the forum supporting Trump in the US Senate right now.
Wrong thread for that conversation starter mate
No, it is perfectly suited, as I was listening to the opening arguments and amendment motion whilst reading this thread and it matched the sentiment perfectly.
