I’ve just heard a rumour, and please note it is a rumour that the Tigers and Storm have agreed on a permanent swap between Brooks and Grant.

Somebody check on Geo, I have concern for his safety

FAKE NEWS…

No truth at all to the Brooks/Grant rumour. People are over complicating this situation when it is very simple. There is no need for a trade from either side, it will be completely up to Grant should Smith stay on.

In other news, Canberra looking to acquire Granville to cover Hodgson and the Dogs making a big play at Reed Mahoney!

I don’t think it was a rumour as such…

More a begging pleading take him take him idea…

I hate to be negative, but surely I’m not the only one who think he’s a complete plodder offers legit nothing in attack - half decent in defence but doesn’t make up for his poor attack whatsoever

Surely he has something on Madge, I can’t see how he manages to get selected let alone start every week…

I think it would be good if a lot of people on this Forum gave some of these young blokes a go.

Clark has played 14 games (5 this year for a total of 164 minutes, equivalent of 2 games) and he is only 23. Props in Rugba League do not mature until much later, he is learning his craft. They are also much further behind than the island boys. He has been rushed into the NRL because we are short.

The same as Hoffman the other night, people calling him a plodder and give him the flick after 80 minutes. That’s ok, play him out of position, and have him play along his captain (which all should have been a good learning curve) should have,
instead he got hung out to dry and people are calling for him to be given the flick.

Some of these youngsters are only playing NRL because of our predicament, possibly playing 1 or 2 seasons too early, they are only helping out, but that is alright, crucify them anyway.

Some people are saying Madge is doing the right thing, build the team up from the bottom, buy really good young blokes etc. Neck minute, he’s a plodder, why did we get him, slow as a wet week, get rid of him…blah, blah, blah.

Some of these young blokes may be the real deal, they may turn out to be duds, I don’t know but we need to give them a go for God’s sake.

If not go back to buying old blokes who are nearly cripples, that suck up the salary cap and sit out their early retirement in cc or in the injury room.

Also, Clark played multiple games last season and has had a full pre season off the back off that with Madge too and he’s 23 so it’s not like he’s a raw talent or player…

For Hoffman however, I agree with your points but I don’t think the same applies for Clark but that’s just my opinion

You do realise he is 23, of course you do you mentioned it above.

14 games for a prop - at best 30 minutes per game.

You are a hard marker - I think you really need to give him a go. You don’t become a Glen Lazarus overnight. Hesitate to use the term patience but that is what it takes. You obviously prefer to buy these old guys than develop young guys.

Few weeks back everybody was calling for Eisenhuths guts for garters. Look how everybodys attitude has now changed.
Clark is young and inexperienced and should also be given the chance to improve under Maguire coaching just like Eiso.

A few were calling for Eisenhuth to be back in the team…

So if zerotackle is correct we have Eisenhuth , Clark ,Jennings , Rowdy , Benji , McIntyre , McQueen , Seyfarth , Dylan Smith and Elijah Taylor off contract at seasons end

If I kept 3 …Huth ,McIntyre …maybe Clark

Big no to Clark. Doesn’t cut it for me.

Well 2 then …still we won’t have millions available on our cap like Gus mentioned

I’d say 1.8 - 2.0 million max …and that will have to cover 8 spots with the cuts to squads numbers next season

We have over $300k in cap fines available next year

Well just chucking numbers out

McQueen was reported at 375 k
ET probably mid to high 400 k
Lawrence around 200 k
Marshall around 250 k
Add the fine in 350 k from memory
Add 4 players on league minimums 400 k

That’s around 1.9 -2.0 million

There is no point adding players on minimum wage, because you have to replace them and have to pay at least minimum.

Whether we do or don’t that’s the approximate cap amount not including the 4 that we’d let go

Still far from the 3 million Gus reported on Friday night

Corey Thompson was on 600K

IMO everyone needs to relax. Our D has been good and in particular our left side has been good. One game it all turns to poo, but that also happens to be a game where we put a 19yo rookie on that wing.

Get Talau back and I think it goes back to being reliable.

Drop everyone
