Tiger has Kyle in his sights
By Nick Walshaw From: The Daily Telegraph
December 05, 2009 12:00AM

WATCH out Kyle Sandilands - Wests Tigers serial pest Liam Fulton is back in Australia and gunning for new blood. A fan of pranking radio jocks, Fulton is vowing to add the prized Sandilands’ scalp to his list before the 2010 NRL season kicks off.

“The only stumbling block right now is my boss,” Fulton said, referring to Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens. “He isn’t real happy with my radio pranks but, well, I’m not sure he’s a 2DAY FM listener anyway.”

In a bid to keep busy off field, Fulton and Tigers teammate Bryce Gibbs are also expanding their Sydney print company - sportystuff.com.au.

“Basically we print personalised stubbie holders, coffee mugs, keyrings, T-shirts, all sorts of stuff,” Fulton explains. “We encourage community and charity groups to get their members involved and then donate a chunk of the money back to them.”

Ummm……as much as I love these jokesters…I hope Liam is listening to his Boss and concentrating on Football…

Great to see their off field ventures are doing well…great stuff…

@willow:

What position does he play? If he can cover 100m in mid 11’s at that size then he’d prove a real handful out wide.

Roosters junior Harold Matthews…found this article……http://www.nswrl.com.au/article.php?id=416" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Roosters junior reps hit early form

Keliti Vaingalo used his large frame to burst through three defenders to give the Roosters a comfortable 30-0 lead by half-time.

@sleet52:

Ill always remember his fend against the warriors a few years back AMAZING!

That was a cracker. I think Tony Martin may have been on the end of that fend. Galea will be 32 when he returns to Australia so I think he’ll be long odds to pick up an NRL contract. He was a great clubman for the Tigers though.

YES! If it is the one I am thinking of, the Warriors guy basically ended up on his head.

Fantastic player Ben Galea was, and maybe still is - haven’t seen him since he left the tigers.

Well in his first year with Hull KR ……he won the Player of the Year Award…last year he was named in the ESL Team of the Year…so in other words he’s killing it…

Skando was 34 and he gave great value last year…

HULL KR: Galea disappointed over lack of offer
Wednesday, December 02, 2009, 06:25

HULL KR’s Ben Galea admits he has been disappointed not to have been offered a new deal by Rovers. The 31-year-old had hoped to have agreed an extension to his deal at Craven Park, as his present contract expires at the end of the 2010. But despite an impressive season for the Robins in 2009, Galea admits this may be his last campaign at the club. “I’m disappointed not to have been offered a new deal,” Galea told the Mail.

"I’ve given 100 per cent the last two seasons and was player of the year two seasons ago. "If I don’t get a new deal at Rovers > I’ll look around for another club in England and Australia.

Galea is one of a host of big-name players at the club entering the last year of their deals. And with the club losing an average of £450,000 a season so far, it may provide KR with an opportunity to cut spending and reduce costs.
Despite the disappointment, Galea says he has returned to pre-season training determined to prove he still has plenty to offer. “I still have the hunger to play at this level, it’s what I love doing,” he said. > “My body feels great but maybe the club has other plans. I don’t want to retire just yet but I’ll keep my options open.”

Galea joined Rovers from Wests Tigers ahead of the 2008 season. The NRL Grand Final winner made an immediate impact and won both player of the year awards at the end of the season. Last season he was tipped as an early contender to win the Man of Steel award scoring eight tries in the first 12 Super League games.

He was also one of four Rovers players to be > named in Super League’s Dream Team > along with fellow second rower Clint Newton. > Galea played every league game for the Robins last season> .
