This guy would be a great signing. Young and talented and plays a specialist position…

apart from another acl tear there is too much upside for us to not have a go at him.

Which guy? Doueihi? Plays a specialist position? Has played every position 1 - 7, the fact he is not a specialist is my biggest problem with him.

haven’t people been saying he was a fullback but played elsewhere or have I got my information wrong??

He plays fullback and 5/8. He filled in one game on the wing and played one game at halfback when coming back from injury and Reynolds was out.

Cheers for that…

So what is his position then? A 5/8 that plays a bit fullback, or a fullback that plays a bit of 5/8?

Bingo. Do we need another one?

If we’re looking for a fb that can pass, then surely this guy would be the fit?

We already have Mbye who is a fb that can pass, but cant catch.

Dont get me wrong, of all the suggestions, Doueihi is the least bad suggestion Ive seen recently, but I think we need specialists. Someone who you KNOW is a specialist.

So as we stand now…
Thompson we have which while being no specialist will play his guts out. We know what we get with him
Linked to AJ who is a winger but no specialist. Proven 1st grader but not at the position we need. On good coin
Linked to Doueihi who plays 5/8 but can play fb. Potential but that’s a bit of a double edged sword. Potential doesn’t always translate to a long healthy career…I would assume not as much coin as AJ but more years ahead of him…

Too many options for something that we need, but can’t find the right player…

Exactly…but it is possible to shop at a store other than Souffs, believe it or not.

Fullback 2020, 5/8 2021 onwards.

i get the possibilities and understand the logic behind them. My point is do we want to start an experiment at 6 in 2021? There is ZERO evidence that Doueihi is an NRL standard 5/8 let alone one that will get us to finals success. He might be, but there is no evidence that he is.

Not against Douehi but not at full freight, the Bunnies backended the contract and it’s a bit like letting them off the hook.

With Arrow arriving in 21, looking at what they have off contract next year and their current forward strength they appear to be getting themselves into a bit of a mess cap wise and then it appears they are not willing to pay any freight, a bit arrogant for a club that may be in a salary cap mess come 2021 if they don’t offload some baggage.

But that’s always been Wayne’s way, never had trouble off loading or getting a player to retire to fit in any new big buy he wanted at the Donkeys, but will it work at the Bunnies.

I see the Bunnies ATM throwing everything at a chance at a premiership I mean this season next at a pinch ! Let’s face it Bennett will be using a Zimmer frame in the not to distant future and will start forgetting how to get to Redfern oval for training ! There seems a real feel of desperation around the Burrow they are really pushing the salary cap ceiling !

They have bigger problems than they know. Latrell and Arrow and good signings for them but if you have a look they have 2/3’s of their roster off contract next year including Cook & Murray and they could be decimated. I think that is some of the incentive to move people now.

If Pascoe keeps trying to play hardball and we miss out on Douehi for the sake of $100k it will be a bad move for the club. He’s an excellent player that hasn’t yet reached his prime. He will increase our chances of making the 8 in 2020. No point going into March with $1m in the bank.

You’d be getting him for under 400k for 2020 as Souths have already paid him 3 months. Assuming the 500k figure is accurate.

Let him train with Souths till March then sign him…will only cost us $330k for 2020…

You’re talking as though they need to let him go. They probably don’t. We’re not doing them a favour taking Doueihi.

You’re right but maybe Doueihi needs to be realistic as well. Either he stays at Souths playing backup and collect $500k for two years stalling his development in the process or he accepts a reduced deal to join the Tigers.

Why should the Tigers be the ones that are wearing everything, by all reports Souths don’t “need” to move him on and would be happy to see him bide his time as backup so maybe it’s Doueihi that needs to give a bit as well.

a player cant reduce their deal, NRL wont allow it

He wouldn’t be reducing it he would be negotiating a new contract and if it were for three seasons that worked out at say $400k per year then no problems with that at all for the NRL.

yes there would, the NRL don’t allow it. a player who is already signed for 2020 on $500k can not sign a new contract anywhere for a lesser amount

I would think with your user name that you’d know better, he can absolutely agree to a longer contract at a different yearly rate.

ok mate🙄

Your namesake did?

mate I can tell you now, it 100% cant happen

mate…I can tell you …now

It 100% has happened a number of times, ironically at least once with Chris Lawrence

ill take an NRL salary cap auditors word over yours

Really? Which salary cap auditor? Name? When? What happened to the Tigers re Lawrences last contract?

So, were not even in the hunt for him 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Don’t worry if we are Chairman Lee will let us all know about it.

Lol you mean go off half cocked again! Guy’s a lawyer right? Be interesting seeing him in action in a court room 😂

Came across as a complete amateur …
IMO

The guy has built a massive national legal firm, building significant wealth and a group of nuffies on an internet forum lol at him and call him an amateur.

Im sure he is chastened.

Couldn’t care what he’s achieved in business really …
How many chairperson’s do you see on tv smiling like a Cheshire Cat gloating about a potential million dollar signing …
Came across as an amateur to me …

Maybe he should log onto the forum 😂
We know our shit !

Lee goes on the media and states publically how keen we are to sign Latrell and how much the club values him and wants him. - AMATEUR…LOL

Rusty publically wines and dines Latrell at Nana Glen - ohhhh…ahhhhh…so professional and magical.

Personally I was happy with Lee going the extra mile to try to make things happen. People b***h and moan about Go & BOF doing nothing and is it the same people bitching and moaning about Lee doing something? I personally love our chair and sponsor wearing his heart on his sleeve.
