Stefano would move us to 28. Still need to fill one spot by round 1.

Also the club is inches away from securing Stefano from the Eels for 2020.

Slot into the top 30?

The US response will be interesting to say the least. The fact that Trump hasn’t done anything rash might suggest a de-escalation…

…Or he might go the whole hog. The former would be more surprising than the latter.

It has handed him the perfect opportunity to act magnanimously without losing face. He’d be stupid to retaliate to this. If Iran bothered to launch this attack in the first instance as a reprisal then they’ll be unlikely to be satisfied with such an ineffectual result (regardless of how they try to sell it). Iran is likely to launch a further attack at some point at which time Trump can claim he was prepared to let matters lie but then had to act to quell their belligerence in the face of multiple attacks. It will be a more aggressive response than could possibly be justified in response to this attack alone, which is probably how Trump wants to respond because he’s all about displays of power.

What “displays of power “ ?

Assassinating a revered general of another sovereign nation for a start?

You mean the terrorist who was responsible for the deaths and wounding of thousands of Americans, the deaths of thousands of his own countrymen and was organising further attacks?

That revered general ?

Good one.

What proof do you have he was actively targeting America? Show your working old sport.

Where does the energy come for all of you to still be invested in this.

Value for money and players that are cheap shouldn’t even be in the lexicon when you have the money to spend that we have. Shows how hard old habits are to kick, talking about who we can buy who wouldn’t cost a lot. We should be past that now, looking at top tier players. Forget about money.

Coreys better then A.J!! We have enough wingers and make shift fullbacks!!if we sign him to help the Rabbits that’ll do me

Honestly, can we stop with this utter crap, promoting the idea we’re helping another club.

get rid of nofo or offer a trade to melbourne for JAC like suggested earlier

You say that like Noffa has no say in the matter. Like he’s a chess piece.

Latrell could very well have a big 2020, regardless of where he plays. Having the courage to put a big price tag on himself, and return to his favoured FB spot shows he has the desire to go on with it imo. If we could sign both LM & JAC, we would have the two fastest players in the NRL, with “try scoring power” as Madge put it.

Sounds to me like it’s a done deal with Souths. Brother of one of their best told me this morning he was almost certain. I guess it just comes down to the contract wrangling but all at Souths are convinced it’s happening.

Maybe, but theres no point in us making it easy for them. No taking any Souths players, until they have announced a NRL approved LM signing.

If we don’t, someone else will.

I pray he doesnt come… or if he does we screw him down on price.

900k is for players who can turn a game regularly, this bloke doesnt even turn up to captains runs consistantly. Gun players dont come here because they dont think they are the final cog in the machine to make us contenders. Mitchell isnt the final cog to make us a success.

Respect your opinion, what do you think is the final cog? I think it’s a 9 a 1 and an outside back

sounds silly but a real damaging second rower is a piece we need more than a back. Matterson hurt us. Frizell, Cordner, Taumalolo et. al. add both extra starch to the pack, yet also unlock the backs when running numbers. I think Brooks can read the numbers, just we lack the venom to sell the cut outs so we dont profit from indecisiveness. Matterson out wide was more dangerous than when he was in the middle.

Mitchell benefitted from having Keary inside him and then Cordner. Defensive lines dont slide hard when Cordner is an option, though any defender in the league would hedge their bets on stopping Lawrence one on
one for example. Mitchell would become our new Teddy pass when nothing is going on. If Mitchell was a fullback with all his skills, of which he has a fair toolkit, he wouldnt have lost the job long before Tedesco rocked up.

I think you’ll find Big Luci will fill that role nicely, big body with some ball playing ability!!

Im a fan of his… but what are we going to do for the other 72 mins of the game

Garner on the left for 80. Leilua on the right for as long as he lasts. Aloiai can spend some time running wide in attack too. We can make our 2nd rowers threatening enough, especially if someone like Mitchell is sweeping behind them - should be enough to create indecision in the defence.

Good evening gentleman, I don’t mean to butt in however I’d just like to add regarding LL, that when he started games in the second row he averaged 71 minutes 118 metres per game 31 tackles 3 tackle breaks and 1.8 offloads per game. Mr Luciano has a lot of upside. Mr Pascoe did astutely well on that signing

Anyway sorry to interrupt. Have a nice night

Haha so formal now?

Trying to be like Magpies1963. Lacks the charisma though.

Amazingly, he was pretty subdued on Twitter, saying he’ll make a statement in the morning. Who knows, maybe he realises the seriousness. Dare I give him the benefit of the doubt.
