I’d prefer Munster Addo-Carr and Nofoaluma…
Call me a negative nelly but I think we could struggle luring a player like Munster to WT.
Actually I think Munster is just the kind of nutjob who would come.
I thought we had a "NO DiXXhead " policy ?
Does anyone know if we we are going to promote young Joey Ratu? Seems like a good prospect and is featured a lot on the Tigers instagram. He looked really strong for Fiji.
No chance of anyone being able to spell his name…
. . . they can’t spell “than”
Divisive, incorrect, selective, inflammatory, uncalled for, offensive, detrimental and pointless.
98% of the criticism should be aimed at that original post, but I sit here in amazement that people are criticising me and others that reacted to Annandale’s post.
And not laying the blame squarely at Annadale’s post.
Wests Tigers Board is made up of 9 members
5 from the Wests Magpies Pty Ltd (Wests Ashfield Leagues / WSDRLFC)
2 from the Balmain Football Club
2 Independent members.
In simple terms Wests Ashfield control Wests Tigers…
Yes, and why wouldn’t they. The Balmain connection proved they couldn’t run a chook raffle.
Straight after this post there are 4 or 5 highly defensive and somewhat argumentative posts defending historic ties. Putting crap on either Balmain or magpies just agitates those with passionate links to our founding clubs. The chook raffle comment caused the next posts.
Maybe an over reaction but we all need to be sensitive to our traditional roots
Well said Steve, there are far too many post on this forum still that are aimed at driving a wedge between supporters!
Well said, cochise. Especially the post that started this flare up, by insinuating that success of our team was a result of balmain being in charge. To then not continue to mention that balmain were indeed killing the JV, and Wests had to save it, is the type of skewed recalls of history that indeed drives wedges. “Somewhat argumentative” is a polite way of describing that initial post.
This initial post is the one that caused the reactions. If only for the fact that it blew hot air up balmain’s back side . . . but conveniently left out the part about exactly who had to save the JV from balmain’s incompetence.
I was obviously a Magpie fan prior to the JV . . . but have never yet had a problem with joining forces. Embraced it from day 1.
Until reading Annandale’s selective memory post, I have never had cause to gloat that the Magpies saved my footy team. Never once.
But to read this garbage about how balmain drove the success of the WT . . . and to conveniently omit that balmain nearly killed the JV . . . is honestly beyond belief.
And people are commenting about over-reactions ? Well hows about looking at the incendiary nature of that post ?
Oh, and Annadale . . . just to set some facts straight . . . Balmain would not exist as part of our JV if it wasn’t for Wests. Secondly, balmain had maybe 5% contribution to our success prior to '12.
Go the mighty WT !!
Our most successful period as a team happened under Balmain steer. This is opening a can of worms but wests became more involved from 2012 ish if I recall. Could be wrong
“But Wests became more involved from 2012 ish” That’s an interesting take on history, Annandale. Narrow, and “woke” selective, but interesting just the same.
I wonder why they became “more involved” ?
Hang on, before I answer that, there is this elephant in the room.
This huge, massive elephant in the room.
Just let me shoo him away, then we can get back to your talk of the reasons Wests became more involved from 2012.
The idea that a political leader is race bias is, in many instances, a very immature attempt to appeal to the race bias in others. We should all check our factual data. Again, how is it that some know how others feel? Hate is an emotion isn’t it?
Except Trump isn’t a politician. He’s a billionaire who ran for President and won. He can’t be compared to career politicians and how they carry themselves.
I know a lot has happened over the Christmas break and numerous alcoholic beverages have been consumed with family and friends. So you’ll need to allow me some time to catch up. So, pray tell, when did the POTUS stop being a political leader?
The ImPOTUS is not a career politician like everyone else. Thus, it’s no surprise that he doesn’t act like one.
That’s a good thing right?
Because my understanding is that’s what the voters wanted. A “political leader” who was not a career Politician.
Isn’t that how democracy should work?
It became clear to me at least, as the election campaign rolled forward, that voting in a POTUS because he/she/they were black, female or whatever didn’t make sense, when what they really wanted was a stronger economy.
Now you’re the one who whose claiming to know how others think and feel. How do you know they were voting for Hillary and Obama simply because one was a woman and the other was black?
Well there were plenty who came out and said just that… plus the fact their campaigns targeted those groups.
Who said what? Every campaign targets specific groups. You don’t think Trump targets minorities?
Wait, he does
Did I say he didn’t?
You’re the one with your head in the sand if you don’t think Obama was pitched at blacks, Clinton at women, and those people voted for them in droves because of that.
As an aside… it’s worked out great for the blacks that Trump got elected - they now enjoy the lowest unemployment figures since statistics were first recorded.
As an aside . . . It’s simply hilarious how this point of major importance is totally ignored by the anti-Trumpers
If his Eastern European wife is the same race as him ( she’s not, btw) is argued 5 ways from Tuesday, but this one small example of the great things Trump has done for America is casually and typically ignored.
But yes, he did marry an attractive woman. And as far as I know, she ain’t giving or taking " sexual relations "in the Whitehouse. A pleasant change from what might have happened.
Wow that young prop Marvoni Tuifua has so go forward in him … !!
Reece Hoffman is a gun centre from the QLD under 20 program … he reminds me a lot of a young Chris Lawrence … Hoffman will make grade this season … !!
Yeah, Mav has some real oomf about him. Look forward to see the young fulla in 2020.
Edit: we’ll have one of the meanest young packs in the comp in the next couple yrs.
Feels that way with Stefano coming on board.
Along with Mikaele, Seyfarth and hopefully a few more kicking on.
No more Mr nice guys.
Is this young prop Mavoni locked up with the Tigers?
Let’s hope he is, and we don’t do the typical Weststigers thing of slowly slowly development and bringing them in nice and easy so we don’t put too much pressure on them.
Nek minnit, Storm fly up and sign him and voila ! another purple super player in an instant !
He looks good enough to sign on whatever contract can having him try his hand at NRL in 2020. I don’t really see any area of his game that isn’t NRL ready.
Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone !!!
I can’t believe, in this age of health awareness, and all the professional guidelines as to how to add weight healthily, that a staff of the WT would simply say : eat dirty!
That will do me.
Yup. When we’re wrong, we are wrong.
What else do u do if you can’t put on weight.
Sorry Tony, you are talking to the wrong bloke about not being able to put on weight.
