It was been reported both in the mainstream media as well as from the south Sydney side of things and the tigers side that wests are AD’s preferred option. This is due to a number of reason but mostly because we can offer him the 6 role long term but if he plays well for us in 2020 then he also has first crack at fullback. Not to mention he already has a working relationship with Madge. 100 K is a lot of money that I don’t think anyone would just simply give up

Explain to me two things.

  1. Point me to a MSM report where Doueihi states that the Tigers are his preferred destination.
  2. Explain to me the “working relationship with Madge?” Has he ever played under him?

Why the change Glenn …

Madge talking about recruitment approach
“We need to be clear about not making the same mistakes this club’s made in the past,” Maguire said.

“We’re in the process of making major changes but we need to be smart about how we make those changes.

“The position our salary cap is in at the moment, we need to get players’ values spot on.

“We want to give players the best opportunity to build something here at Wests Tigers that hasn’t been here at the club for some time.

“We’ve got a great young squad, now we just need to be patient about making the right decisions around who we bring into the club next.

“We won’t be just spending money for the sake of spending it.

“I’d rather take my time and focus on building the club from the ground up. We’ll be diligent about making the right decisions.”

And if we sign Josh Hoffmann , he looks like a total idiot (and yes I left a word out )

What do you have against Canterbury Cup signings. ?

Because it is an attempt to cover over the fact no one worth two bob wants to play NRL here

Play it out whatever way you like …and the comments by Maguire back that up

People seem to think we have had two months to sign players for 2020 …we’ve had since November 2018 and the best we have come up with is Leilua

If people aren’t questioning where the club is at right now …they never will

The bulk of the funds we have available are from the release of Matterson and Masters and the medical retirement of Matulino so no, we have not had since November 2018.

Even if the club had an idea those things were going to happen you can’t spend the money till it’s all offical and signed off so we’ve had since October 2019 at best.

What …we can’t unload deadwood like other clubs do …

Problem is Brooks needs good service from dummy half to be creative and to give him time and you need an option at fullback to then to try and stop defences camping off whatever Brooks might be looking at creating and his ball runners

We honestly shouldn’t even be taking a 2nd look at Leilua until we fix at least one of those two issues

There’s no top hookers available. Peats or Mahoney the best available. No real upgrade. Farah going will be a positive.

Depends what Mahoney and Peats are after …not a Peats fan myself but at the right price …I’ve got time for Mahoney …reckon he has an upside

The good thing is he seems to have recovered from an ACL reconstruction and won Souths Rookie of the Year award …600 k though …pretty rich maybe

The problem is what is his best position 1 or 6

That’s not a problem. We need a 1 now and a 6 next year. He can trial for both!

But if utility is his biggest asset we shouldn’t sign him , if we sign him at 1 he should stay at 1 unless we sign a top fullback

And then well maybe he starts getting close to his worth at around 500 k

The highest paid tiger on the books for 2020 is Josh Reynolds he currently takes up roughly 7% of the cap. That is horrendous. Luckily for tigers they have brooks on a lower end contract for halves in NRL (500k) which equals about 4.5% and Benji which is about 2.5% generally MOST nrl clubs would have close to 25% of the cap Tied up in the “spine” even with a bad contract
On their hands with a player who probably won’t play a game this year tigers spine only soak up 18% of the cap. So adding douehi who could conceivably play 2 positions in the spine for 500k taking up about another 4.5% of the cap, isn’t terrible given the situation.

Brooks’ 550k contract was for 2018-2019. His new contract started this season (2020-2023). He’ll be earning in the 850-900k region.

Mbye reported to be earning 950k.

I can tell you neither of those numbers are correct

You should list all 30 players for 2020 contract amounts then

It’s my job to know.

Well spit it out then …you quite happily spilt some phone message …salaries of players should not worry you

Better option than than Kane Mcquiggin & McIntyre playing in the centres. Far out

What …

Read what Madge said 'we are waiting for the right players" and then we sign Hoffman (top 30 or not top 30 )

Madge will look a complete idiot

I don’t believe the pom
Edit: he might be right

I’m guessing you back all 24 runners in the Melbourne Cup as well

I don’t bet on the trots U silly mongrel
