Disagree with some of the criticism of the ref. In some ways we bossed him around. We slowed the game down a bunch for the first 60 with players resting, some legit and some questionable. He allowed us to do it.

You would be joking. You are “Geeing us up.”

Sure we bossed him around so much he gave us all the favorable calls.

Give me a break.

I never said he favoured us. But he did genuinely allow us to take plenty of time where some refs wouldn’t have and where in the past we wouldn’t have been smart or bold enough to do it.

Yeah he made some crap calls. I didn’t see the Garner knock on either but don’t we have a captain’s challenge to correct that mistake? Or the nonsense Mansour play the ball call? I saw some people on here saying Douhei didn’t take the ball into touch. He did. I saw some people on here saying Api hit Luciano on purpose when that’s really quite a stretch. It was those overreactions I’m talking about when I mention the refs.

The ref didn’t make BJ decide not to pass when he had the overlap. He didn’t make Chee Kam miss the tackle that led to the try. He didn’t make Brooks put in two crap grubbers close to the line. He didn’t cause Eisenhuth to be offside on a kick chase or make BJ hit a guy for now reason. He didn’t lose us the game, the players did and we wouldn’t be complaining if we’d won. Simple.

We made some dumb errors agreed
But some of the refs calls were deadset momentum killers

The supposed Garner knock on…

Kikau not being called square at marker when he tackled BJ

Penrith decoy runner taking out one of our defenders ( penalty all day )

Kikau’s 2 high shots not going punished
Etc…

Kirosau’s dog shot on Lucy which has gone unpunished and killed of that set

All piss poor decisions which are massive momentum changers

Not to mention the guys who go down with a split toenail while the attacking team get to the 5th tackle then all of a sudden the trainer 55m away stops the game…gives em a rest…bloke goes off…restart kick defense set…

Cmon Geo …seriously …how many times has Joey broken a leg , been disembowelled , been crucified , had a coronary , needed a labotomy when we have a drop out

The game has stopped when we have a drop out …big difference to when we’re on a roll and they stop play 🤬

From ‘The Forgotten Man NRL Rumours’

Breaking news!

The Josh Addo-Carr situation seems to be a 3 team race for his signature - Rabbits, Bulldogs and Tigers

The Wests Tigers are favourites to sign Corey Harawira-Naera if the NRL clear him to play, the Dragons, Raiders and Warriors are also monitoring the situation!

Toby Rudolf has backflipped on his deal with the Warriors and seems set to remain in Cronulla!

Michael Chee Kam seems set to join the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs starting from next year on a 2 year deal!

I’m not even concerning myself with JAC. As if he’s not going to Souths. We’d be used as a bargaining tool to up his $$.

And that’s fine, up Souths asking price, less money to spend on others.

They just cheat anyway. Mitchell, we offered him over a million, Souths got him for $600k.

Was going to post the same thing about salary cap and souths, but souths will look pretty bad if they sign JAC, they just told their local indigenous, premiership winning, top try scoring winger that they had no money for him next year, if they then sign another winger for more money, that will be a really poor look

JAC will only be on $150k at Souffs

@ElleryHanley said in There ought to be an investigation:

The main issue were the play the balls / ruck…they got multiple pens in a row which gave them huge momentum and directly led to their final 7 points.

The exact same things were done by Penrith in the ruck…no pens.

It was more than that. Penrith we’re doing shoulder charges, attacking the head and swinging arms all night and for the most part getting away with it. We lost two players because these tactics, with one ending up in hospital. Certainly no Panther’s player was sent off or sin binned.

Then we get a player in the clear after a quick play the ball and it’s called back to play the ball again. This happened !!!TWICE!!!

The refs stops play as we are building pressure as one of the Penrith players was being strapped 60mtrs away from the actual play and the play is moving further away from the player.

Unbelievable incompetent referring.

It just proves the NRL are biased and have there favourites …
Enjoy the Pamfers v Slimers GF cause that’s what it’ll be .

i dont know russell he might be a safer option that blooding a Hoffman or something. i know Jennings is not the answer long term but he could be a stop gap measure perhaps or we move benji but dont think he could handle centre

I wouldn’t call that being on your feet. We’ll agree to disagree. I’ve seen plenty of those instances ruled as an incorrect PTB because a player “hasn’t risen to his feet before placing the ball down” as the ref would say.

If he drops the ball or places it on the opposition’s foot or leg, I agree, it gets called a lot as a bad PTB. If it’s a regular incident-free PTB, nothing happens 9999/10000 PTB. As I said, I don’t believe it’s technically illegal because the rule says you must “regain your feet”. Exactly what does regaining one’s feet look like?

If the marker pushes the guy trying to play it, they’ll get called every time.

After this discussion I keenly watched the PTB styles of all matches during the weekend, players are doing this constantly, getting up on one leg before placing the ball.

As well as rolling the ball backwards with no real attempt to touch it with the foot as long as it looks like a play the ball…

Something they cracked down on for a few weeks in 2018…

It’s a circus 🎪

@jirskyr said in Please Explain To Me The Alleged Knock-On???:

Tigers should have challenged it. Kikau’s hand clearly around the ball on replay, though live you could understand why it was hard to detect.

Especially after getting smashed. Refs always seem keen to rule a dropped ball if there’s any kind of bobble after a big hit.

Just too early in the game to use your challenge. Smart teams know not to use a challenge on a 50/50 call as well. Use the challenge when you definitely know the call was wrong or in the final stages of the game when you’ve got nothing else to lose by using it.

Disagree
If your adamant your correct use the challenge …
But when your captain is church mouse Mbye that’s half the problem.

@hobbo1 said in Would you drop BJ?:

@jirskyr said in Would you drop BJ?:

His suspension will I think be sufficient punishment. I thought the Panthers played pretty rough and got away with it all night, considering they put two of our blokes out of the match with careless football.

BJ lost his head but we weren’t in a match-winning position, it was after the final play.

Still think 4 weeks is harsh for a love tap.
2 weeks max .

Fonua Blake is only looking at 3 for calling the ref a F…retard !

How many weeks can someone get for getting sent off in general? Or is it just dependent on the Incident e.g. mouthing off the ref

I Dunno 🤷‍♂️ mate ?
