Re JAC on above any winger wage, i get it, but he isn’t really just a winger, he is the best winger, and he provides more in little things like kick chase pressure, repeat sets etc etc than any other winger in the comp. His meters are outstanding and speed creates opportunities. Plus he is exciting and a star for a club. He brings in young fans. I think he deserves a few hundred K above winger money myself, absolutely. How much more? Not sure. But those scoffing that he wants more than a winger wage, I disgree with that folk. I think he deserves it for sure.

Siro is multitudes better than Garner! Its not close. I’d take Siro for sure lol. I can’t see why not. He isn’t the best sure but he is much better than Garner or whoever else.

RE: Aloiai
Screw him - i know he will be toxic at the club but I rather give a firm message, keep him in reserves all year. I feel its more a battle for future - if we bow down, why wont managers keep saying its a easy way to get out in future? Gotta make a stand here, even if it damages 2021 - lets face it its not that grand looking anyway hah! I’ll support the club entirely if they keep him in reserves.

RE: Wests Tigers sign James Roberts till 2022
The indigenous program and Tahu are my fav parts of the off season. Good stuff!

RE: Josh Reynolds
Josh Reynolds was awesome at Dogs, helped lift a shy Hodkinson so they both became nsw halves, and that was one of the few years they win in the period. Didn’t work out at Wests for reasons but I think he is a nice bloke and full of heart.

Nice guys don’t win you comps
Totally. I’m just saying it’s not his fault, he is playing to his potential, its Tigers who chose to pay him very generously so I don’t think its fair to give him crap for not being James Tedesco or whatever. He is Mbye being Mbye to his highest Mbye.

RE: Luke Brooks
Well if he isn’t a top NRL halfback in 2021 surely it’s over, time to find a new one for 2022. I hope he kills it also, will be ecstatic to see.

RE: Signing Suggestions & Rumours
Id prefer to sign no one of importance for next year and save the money for 2022, effectively write off 2021 as a 10th to last type squad, and go for JAC (yes still possible) and other gun players in 2022. Forget about Mansour, Jimmy etc. We have plenty of OK players, we need some top tier players. Origin calibre.

400-500 - 37%
500-600 6%

I can’t see how losing Noffa could be a good thing.

RE: Signing Suggestions & Rumours
So I haven’t read all the pages but it appears we won’t be signing any stars for this season, Jac was seemingly last chance. We did well to get a few mid tier players etc and its a better squad than last. Lets hope we can attract a star or two for 2022. Hope for some exciting news.

RE: David Nofoaluma re-signs until 2025..
If Noffa wasn’t our best player last year, how many players were in better form and who were they? If there are some, not many. He was definitely one of our best, not to mention his passion (the new Robbie like figure on the field) and heart, and expressions on his face. So glad we resigned him.

RE: Signing Suggestions & Rumours
Re Brooks comment. Agree I think he needs to work super hard on his running game. Its one of his biggest weaknesses, it hurts watching that dummy! I think he would be more affective just getting the ball quick to, BJ if he is now on the left, than run straight into tackles. Surely he will be going through video of last year and improving all those things
Mbye fullback all year by default. I want more FB options for 2022, not just Daine. Its a work in progress though and I am satisfied with the clubs moves this off season.

Madge obviously sees something in Brooks that he can work with. He had a good look at Brooksy, obviously also had a good look at other halfbacks, then resigned him on a decent contract.
Agree Madge was the one that resigned him on a long term deal and this next season its time to deliver it will reflect poorly on both if we finish lower than 11th.
Forwards are better and younger players more experienced but they need a half that also can dictate plays.
I would have preferred to see Brooks dropped completely last season than retain a bench spot, seemed like it worked for Nofo the season prior.
At the moment will support Brooks but will be watching with Interest on how performs with no Marshall and weather expectations can be achieved, not confident on what i saw prior seasons but am hoping can deliver finally with some better forwards now signed.
I think sometimes what you can find in a team made up mostly of plodders, or those marking time before their next move, is the few good players aren’t consistently good. It’s great to have some leadership and skill in the forwards and hopefully Brooks will appreciate the change. I’m still on the fence, but in the back of my mind I’m hoping that Brooks was marking time waiting for this positive change?
I don’t think Brooks was waiting for anything. He has never had any excuses for his form, never been any, its always been fans making excuses for him.

I do agree the points system of Dally M actually makes it less effective as a award, he wasn’t close to JAC for example, but it means he did something.

RE: Starting team 2021
I’d say Madden gets a go with injuries or suspension later in the year… Seems a bit wild to put him in now IMO

RE: Politics Super Thread - keep it all in here
Trump will face trial for requesting votes be fudged in his favour at the least. When he is no longer president. I think Biden might pardon him to keep peace unfortunately. He will go down as a representation of the low point in American consciousness I believe. May things settle over the next 4 years for our collective consciousness
