Comparing the background of John Grant’s schooling to another arm of the Catholic education reminds me of the Len Smith story, here we have 2 branches of Catholicism going against each other for some reason while in 1948 poor old Len from Newtown missed out on being the Kangaroo capt because he wasn’t Protesant!.
Yes it’s a conspiracy!.
I spent 2 wasted hours of my life watching the Dally M’s last night and really none of the award winners seemed surprised by their Trophies, was it a ‘fait accompli’?.
Remember that News Ltd own the game of the Working Man and also happen to own the club that dominated the awards, it’s called ‘nepotism’ people!..…
Has there been confirmation of the fact, or is it still just heresay, innuendo & out and out lies.
While it’s common knowledge that Leagues clubs are doing it tough because of ALL the legislation that are currently hindering their objectives, surely there is some light at the end of the tunnel now that we have had a change in State government.
Balmain Leagues club were atrociously treated by the Previous Kennelly Labour Government via the Sydney Metro link train station and understandably struggling to stay afloat but this is the Leagues club side of things, not the football club side.
When can we have an answer and will the compensation from the Metro link be the be all and end all?.
Previously on this forum it was suggested that the Tigers sign Tom as he was a future star shackled by the incompetent Parramatta coaching staff.
Then I saw him rip Balmain apart in a NSW Cup game at Leichhardt Oval on Foxsports and all I can add is that the previous posters who wanted Humble at our club were very good judges.
Parramatta have signed Mullaney, our superstar NYC player from 2009 who didn’t set the world on fire playing against older players while Humble could be the answer to our Achilles Heel!.
Unless of course Mitch Brown or Beau Ryan are given a genuine opportunity to cement the No.1 spot.
While I would have loved to see Benji win I really felt for Billy as he felt that by not playing the final game he had blown his chance.
By the same token what about JT, so far out in front before he got injured in a rep game and then there’s Randy/Glen Stewart, penalised 9 points for his shennanigans against the Storm, the forgotten Stewart brother blew his chance for Dally M fame and fortune by trying to prove he was a tough guy!.
It won’t be long before one of our players scores the Dally M, but it won’t be the stand out play maker, I believe it will be the honest toiler, when you have so many stars in a side they take away the points from each other.
I’m an old Balmain fan but when you lose players the calibre of Rhys Pritchard to Newtown & Andrew Pearn & Nathan Waters to Balmain you can sit back and think how good it would have been if the Magpies still had those players.
By the way it was 16-12 to the Maggies at 1/2 time against a side that will probably feature in the Grand Final, while you can’t begrudge a player moving elsewhere to further their career I’m opposed to Balmain getting the bulk of possible Wests Tigers players.
