I’m a bit slow but just noticed the only difference scoring wise was the goal kicking 1/5 vs 4/5. Both teams scored 5 tries. I think Adam will be a fine goal kicker and consistency will come with an off season of practice.

Ill never bag a player for missing kicks from the sideline. Each one of those were very difficult kicks. A few weeks back he got every one. this time he didn’t. Such is life.

Exactly, they certainly weren’t easy. I just remember he said he hadn’t really practiced before given the kicking duties. Imagine what he’ll be like with an off season under his belt.

Hopefully Stef is pissed and will take it all out on MMoses and Matterson next year.

I think it’s time we moved on…

Nah I still hate Moses and matterson and forever will

I still don’t have my voice back after giving it to Moses all during the game. Hate that scum.

Queenslanders have a shock coming … this virus is not going away anytime soon … THE population of NSW are showing how to deal with this we have to live with it ! Queensland is not going to be able to hide from it for to much longer as there scorched earth policies will totally bankrupt the state !
Time for Queenslanders to face reality as the virus will be coming !

Anna has Dr Young looking into airspace. That Qantas flight to nowhere went somewhere, from NSW over the border to Qld. She intends to slam the airborder shut unless of course you are AFL, a yachty, trucking magnate or want Anna to make a cameo in a new film.

Annastacia Moneyszczuk Has no ethics or moral compass.

Well it will cost her the election …

Polls are saying very differently. Who would vote for the Freckle and her neanderthals anyway.

Known Annastacia for a very long time …she’s a class act …but her actions during Covid will bring her down

i’m sorry but the woman is a moron. So now we have the stupid anomaly from Oct 1 of any Qlder can travel anywhere in NSW even though she still says all of NSW is a hotspot and return to Qld and not need to quarantine. However a person in Lismore which is in the QLD bubble goes to Grafton which hasn’t had a covid case for 6 months or more then returns to Lismore has to quarantine for 14 days before entering QLD. Thats the whackiest policy made up on the run that i have ever seen.

Don’t worry it will all change after the election, it will all of a sudden be a priority to get the economy moving and those from NSW will be welcome with open arms.

My whinge is probably personal as well i guess. We booked a holiday to Cairns in January. We are meant to go on November 7th. I live near Port Macquarie - where i live has had no covid cases at all and Port Macquarie has had none for 6 months. Our flights are booked from Brisbane. So i would be travelling from an area that has had no covid cases whatsoever directly to Qld but i won’t be allowed in because i live in a hotspot because the idiot in charge up there is having a [censored] fight with the idiot that runs NSW and wants to punish everyone in NSW because Sydney has a few covid cases. I hope Qld go bankrupt. They deserve it.

I don’t mind her having the bulk of these restrictions, particularly so regarding Sydney remaining in place until after the school holidays in an adjacent state that is still getting over an outbreak, even though well controlled and me living in an area that is counted as Greater Sydney despite being much closer to Newcastle.

If there weren’t still traces of the virus in the sewerage system from the various city collection areas, then I would be in favour of demanding the border be open say two weeks after the kids return to school for clear regions and possibly the city region if the trend continues. It only takes one infected person mingling as part of and amongst an irresponsible group during this high level travel period, for them to then take it back to different communities and us all backwards again.

I hope to be able to travel north in November as well, so fingers crossed that our fellow New South Welshmen act in a Covid safe manner to allow it.

Yep I understand all that - but it seems ridiculous that i can just drive down to Sydney, stay at hotel within 5 klms of the airport overnight, fly to Darwin and stay in the Nthn Territory for 14 days without quarantine and waltz in to Qld with no problem. Yet i can’t drive up to Tweed Heads which is in the border bubble and stay there for 14 days then go to Qld. I will be refused entry because i came from a hotspot. You can’t tell me thats not a crazy policy.

The policies are politically motivated pure and simple. That’s why they appear crazy to rationally sane people.

I don’t really understand the issue. He is disappointed to not be renewed ( fair enough), bitterly disappointed he found out through the media ( disgraceful really) and wants to play on. He was ( and still may be, i’m too lazy to look) leading the NRL in try assists. Not bad for a 35 year old. The guy is a horrible defensive player, but put that attacking statistic into perspective. A man who is 35 years old and plays in the team that came 11th has/had more try assists then at least four SOO halves who are at the peak of their powers. Players that are playing in far better teams then ours.
Now there is no doubt in my mind that Benji will be a defensive liability wherever he ends up and the media would never have allowed him to be a second stringer here, but he will be a handy pick up for a club where he will be allowed to fulfill that role. The fact on Saturday night he made it about Lawrence and not himself knowing Chris would never play another game is a good thing. He didn’t want his family with him because like any other player that is changing clubs, it’s not the end.He has every right to play on. They will be with him when he does hang up the boots. For those saying he is sulking, i don’t see it. I see a guy who is filthy at finding out through the media he is being moved on and rightly so. And quite frankly he is not the only player treated extremely poorly by our club in the last month. There’s a starting point for what we are stand for as opposed to what we should stand for. (another topic i know)

Benji’s disappointment and anger should be directed at his management and not the Wests Tigers. I have very little doubt that his management were responsible for the leaks and why he found out through the press, with his management trying to put pressure on the Wests Tigers to re-sign Benji which blew up in Benji’s managements faces.

You don’t think it’s strange that a player reads something, goes to the HEAD coach and basically says WTF? to be told give me 24 hrs and i’ll let you know? Surely Madge knew. Even if the manager leaked it, at least have the balls when you get confronted to own up. Like i said elsewhere, you can’t expect honesty and accountability if you don’t abide by the same ethos.

Madge probably knew that he was not going to be renewed - however he would have had to consult with Hartigan and Pascoe, especially when it concerned a club legend. He couldn’t just take it upon himself to say “You’re out!”

I don’t think Madge would have been afraid to say anything at all to him.

Not so sure on that Russ. One of the criticisms of Madge has actually been that he doesn’t tell players things. There has also been some shenanigans going on with other not so big name players being told things multiple times only to have it changed a few weeks later. There is a disconnect there somewhere.

So a guy that many are claiming is too hard on players is now scared to have tough conversations, that makes no sense to me.

An exert from the Sydney Morning herald

By Michael Chammas
September 1, 2020 — 7.58pm

There’s also a perception among the playing group that the coach avoids confrontation. It was evident again during the week when Marshall walked into Maguire’s office on Monday and strongly suggested he should play on in 2021 at the Tigers.

Maguire, despite playing a leading hand in the decision not to extend the club legend, left the door ajar and told Marshall to give him 24 hours to see if he could do anything else.

That doesn’t make it fact, how do you think the media got all this info?

Sorry mate added a bit more while you were replying. I don’t know it’s fact. You told me Maguire not being direct didn’t make sense to you, and i gave you a snippet to support my argument of that perception. I have also been told by a current player the same things. Doesn’t make it fact either. So just believe what you will.

Yeah, I just find it really strange that someone who has a rep for pushing players too hard also avoids confrontation. I have known some hard coaches and managers over the years and not one of them was scared to have those conversations, in fact most of them were too blunt and burnt relationships.

It was also evident when Benji was dropped earlier in the year that he clearly knew that defense was the issue and he spoke about how he liked how honest Madge was when they spoke. I absolutely love Benji and I am always defending him, to the point of being ridiculed but something smells fishy here.

Literally every player says Madge is extremely honest with them in interviews without even being asked most of the time. He does not seem like a guy who’s scared to talk to his players it goes against everything the bloke is about.

Exactly

The only issue might be that he’s too honest sometimes. Not every player reacts well to being told exactly what they suck at without being babied a little

Which is why we are not a top 4/8 team. It’s called professionalism.
