Grubby journalism … my understanding is that they hired a private room on the third floor. Nobody was going to see them there … they could do what they liked. But grubby journo gets a vantage point and a telephoto lens and there is the story. Payback for last year perhaps??? Hate where journalism has gone in Sydney.
Hardly surprising. The roosters will keep buying and buying until they win a premiership. Hopefully they never do. No one likes them expect the players wallets and all players know that they sell their souls once they go there. You go there for a chance at a premiership and I cant really think of anyone that has left the club a better player. I know we just signed a young bloke from there, but hes not counted due to lack of 1st grade time.
A short history lesson.
Easts had a couple of seasons in the 1960s (???) where they just bought players so that other teams could not get them. Then they would just play them in reserve grade. I ***think ** Dick Thornett (League and Union international) was one of them, who they bought from Parramatta. Not long after that was when the League introduced the Salary Cap. This is many years ago and the old brain cells are a little dim and while the detail may be vague, the circumstances are pretty spot on. Seems not much has changed
Difficult to believe that Gould was not a part of this or knew nothing (Sgt Shultz???) when, only a few weeks ago he stated that he could fully understand Nathan and Ivan wanting to be in the same team together. Was he trying to soften the blow for the Tigers fans? I doubt that Gould could lie straight in bed. (Mods: Hope there is nothing abusive here  ) Nice to know Ivan is still on the bus.
…and deathly silence from Rothfield and other so-called journalists about this. Very quick to lay the boot into the WT’s on releasing Suli - what about now when it’s an even bigger story.
Tigers crazy for letting new, young superstar go, Bulldogs brilliant at gaining such a raw talent.
Hello? I know some of you “journalists” are on here reading this stuff.
Rothfield did comment on Twitter. In reply to a comment along the lines of it looks like the Tigers got it right, he replied something along the lines of there’s always a first time. It’s not in quotes because I couldn’t be bothered to re-read it to get it correct but it’s close enough. Most of us know that Rothfield is not a credible commentator and his previous dalliance with Eddie Hayson is enough to have serious doubts about his integrity.
You did well there … you managed to get Rothfield and integrity into the one sentence!!! That doesn’t happen often. Give that man a new!!!
Anyone trying to find reasons to convince themselves Tedesco won’t be a massive loss is off their rocker.
The bloke is a freak.
If only he would have played like that for the Tigers. He didn’t so it’s not that great a loss. Better off with blokes who want to play for the club.
The names of potential signings aren’t getting any easier. I’m waiting for Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bus-stop-F’tang-F’ tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel.
Haven’t you heard … ??? His club won’t grant him a release so he is in talks with I Moses to see if they can get around it.
