So what would we all say if iC and JP have a conference today to say they’ve extended his contract another 2 years?
Would we all say that he’s still shifty and not trust what he’s doing?
There’s allegedly a good chance he was blindsided by this offer from Penrith, and like any person core values or not he would naturally think them over, it would only be human not to.
Hopefully today this is all put to bed one way or the other and we can all move forward….
1 Cleary stays and everything keeps on moving, albeit with NC coming soon
2 Cleary goes, someone like a Maguire comes in and galvanizes everything and we become stronger…

Paul Kent is saying Ivan “$1.01 to join Panthers”…

$0.01 Paul Kent is a flogbag

Why have a formal press conference if staying….
Unless its a “put it all to bed” in one go move…
so like every other post - its 50/50

Maybe it’s a presser to say he’s signed a 2 year extension???

This play by Gould is all or nothing because dollars to doughnuts if we keep Ivan the Nathan will be coming

If he doesn’t leave, this thread is going to be hilarious to read back on. Some of his most staunch defenders have completely turned. Do they do a complete 360 if he does stay and go back to supporting him unconditionally?

If he does leave, it tops anything Taylor did, and i dare say the forums opinion of Cleary will be lower than JT.

Hahaha very true……we reserve the right to blah blah blah…

People on the first few pages though said this couldn’t happen though ? Take your Tigersgoggles off !!!

Putting club loyalties aside and just look at it from an outsiders POV’
IF Ivan is being targeted, he in a perfect place to see whether he should want to bring his son here ,or, would he rather join him at Panthers
Hes in the know ( or more than us anyway)about our chances of attracting better players to the club next year, or we still be getting to what we have got now?

If we cant get some class attacking players, , next year will still be about where we are now.
We bleat on about integrity, and loyalty when it suits us, but if it was us stealing a Coach from another club, we would be turning cartwheels,

I havent got a clue if Cleary would go, if asked, but its a business.
Players leave whenever they want,
Clubs dump people on contracts all the time if it suits,( as we are well aware).
Coaches are no different.

As much as I hope that Cleary is staying here, if he takes this opportunity to coach Nathan , and have better players around him,(and they seem to have an endless supply of them) i wouldn’t bear any grudges, about it.
The chance may not come up again

One of these decades we will be the club that everyone hates for poaching other people’s gun players……
But probably not…

For the first time in probably 50 years my interest in the NRL has dropped a tad. The game has become predictable and the so called level playing field resembles the topography you find in Nepal, but this will take the cake if Cleary walks. As fans we are asked to dig deep and show loyalty, get on the bus and be part of it.
Of course I will be a supporter for life, but my membership will go

Yep, if he goes (and I can’t believe he would) that’s it for Rugby League and me.

I agree….I will also go to leichhardt oval and chuck my membership over the fence…
But that is worst case scenario…

I’d refuse his request straight up if that is the case.
It would throw the scanner in the works for Penrith, and Cleary would still have to perform otherwise his stocks would plummet.
On the other hand it cruels is in regards to retention etc

Maybe the board are organizing a counter offer/upgrade?? That’s why they are quiet??

Regardless of the outcome, I am seriously pi55ed that another club like Penrith just waltzes in and entices someone to break a contract, especially the coach.

That is the lowest of low in my book.

Straight out of the Liverpool fc playbook…
