Saw him play a couple of matches without knowing anything about him and he instantly became my favourite 20s player. Very hard hitter in defense which isn’t too common a trait in that competition. The fact he’s a very young bloke fills me with confidence that he’ll play plenty of first grade.

@TYGA:

We were much worse this year given the position we were in before Potter was white anted by Mayer in 2014 and we copped a horror run of injuries. Why are people looking to use stats to back up a horrendous year. It has been poor and not acceptable. Taylor should be given until mid year if we aren’t gong well he needs to be advised he is unwanted for 2017 and he is FREE TO NEGOTIATE WITH OTHER CLUBS so we have a decent coach for 2017 when we should have money to spend.

Mark my words if Taylor leaves the Tigers he will never be a head coach of any other club in the NRL. He just isn’t up to it. The only people on the planet that think otherwise are our board and this Forum.

Agreed
We’ve been way too structured in attack. I’m all for defensive structures but I like the attack to very much play what they see in what you would call a loose structure. So you have some set plays and ideas on how to use your strengths but you play what’s in front of you.
Too many attacks are the same. Its caging up players with great footy IQ which we have. Tackling harder, running harder and supporting the ball carrier will win you every game in rugby league.

So many opinions on how our newly built house is going to look and the quality of the builder, even though we are still demolishing and clearing the site!

Foundations are in, but unfortunately some of the onlookers are querying the quality of the builder. We got our quotes and we chose our builder, but given we know very little about building I guess we will have to wait until the frame is up and roof is on before we will really know if the quality of our house is as good as we hoped it would be.

I bet the builders name is Jerry.lol.

We have chosen our builder……depends on the quality of the materials to be used…nothing worse than a leaky bloody roof… 😮

The builder has charged the plans on the majority owners of the house. He’s throwing out the beautiful respected antique furniture of the house for a Bunnings chair.

@Geo.:

Since we are all into hypotheticals…I have one,say Farah stays,Taylor falls on his sword to much delight of the forum and results with the next bloke remain the same…Where to from then?

We take our medicine knowing our salary cap mess for 2016. I like Gentle as a coach. He knows the club with all its ugliness and issues and has had success in the lower grades. We play a style that suits our squad and look to win and develop the talent we have. Farah has a year to see if he can workout a deal somewhere if he likes. If not, we do it again in 2017 and we honour the contract we signed him up for. We don’t try and break a contract like a player sometimes does which we as fans totally despise.
Hopefully by this time next year the board and all the issues with Balmain are clearer. Until then, there is no direction.

Great thread. It’s a massive issue for next season.
Richards & Galloway gone. Lawrence reportedly being shoped around with Farah being pushed out. Halatau I believe is staying. No experienced players coming in.

Let’s say Halatau and Lawrence stay and Farah goes or at least isn’t picked. They’ll be the only two when origin comes around with over 100 first grade games experience. That is a centre turned second-rower and a lock utility. Woods has just made it to 100 games. I think after them, there would be a bunch of boys no more then 70 including Tedesco, Ava (if we sign him up), Sue, Sironen and Taupau.

That’s a huge issue. On field leadership will be non-existent. You can’t just throw a jersey flegg aged team with a couple of older boys and expect we’ll climb the ladder. Teams will know to bash us and we won’t remain composed in the tough times.
Farah has experienced it all before and it’s no coincidence our very lean times came after he broke his hand. His guidance and canny know-how is vital to a developing team.

@MacDougall:

@gallagher:

We smashed souths without Farah in the middle of the origin series. That’s a REAL fact. Not one of your made up facts.

I think they were missing a few blokes as well 😆
Anyway, according to MacDougall, Cherrington is an equal, if not better, player than Farah (obviously after a whole 9 games in first grade off the bench) so we will be sure to be missing him during SOO next year.

I didn’t say he was better, I said we looked pretty much the same. Farah obviously has a lot of skills and ability but we didn’t look any worse with Cherrington on the park. I think that’s a more than fair comment.

I’m yet to see where Cherrington has won the contact in a tackle he is the first player in. Teams run at him and go straight through him. It’s why he is playing the back end of halves when in first grade. His defense is of more concern then Brooks and Moses. He isn’t ready defensively and we don’t have any other options in what is one of the most vital positions on the field. For that reason alone, Farah has to play for Wests Tigers in 2016.

It’s risky in clubs which have high turnover of management and no clear direction. New changes of management means different directions.
I think we’ve overpaid a couple of purchases and second tier type players. We haven’t had a lot of luck but we haven’t deserved it either.

This is a big call. But it’s not the size of the call that is the issue. It’s the lack of respect for Farah to find another club and us a ready made replacement.
Cherrington isn’t ready for constant first grade. Farah hasn’t been great this year but the other options aren’t anywhere near good enough.
I thought Farah would have been our first long serving sole club player after Benji left. But this clubs past management has ensured we need to alleviate the salary cap mess we find ourselves in. So we’ll pay him to play somewhere else next season but apparently have to so we have some salary cap space.
I’m so envious of the clubs with good management where this isn’t an issue. We are a joke.

Cherrington looks good with the ball but I worry about his size. He’s been run over a few too many times this year to be confident he can do the job next year.
