Any news on Jamal Idris in 2018 and how is recovery is going?

Been doing plenty of rehab at his favourite Sydney watering holes the past couple of months. Won’t be at the club next year.

Of course the Roosters average will be over inflated as they hosted the anzac day game against Saints which had over 40K fans.

Their other 3 home games so far have had attendence records ranging between 10.5k - 13.5k

Found it annoying when Lara cut Pascoe off when he was explaining woods has had a contract on the table since December last year.

Good to hear him also clarify the club couldn’t begin negotiations with teddy last year due to teddy wanting to sort his change of management out.

As usual no surprise to hear the footy whisperer was part of what issac Moses and the players were asking for. Glad the club didn’t pander to their demands.

What’s contrived about it? Commit or don’t. Don’t um and ahhh your way through the season.

The club has ummed and ahhed it’s way through 17 seasons , seems only fair the players do it , don’t you think ??

Don’t see the rest of the players off contract at the other 15 clubs getting forced into a corner by their fans

Two wrongs make a right do they, Happy?

I follow the club, first and foremost, for all it’s faults and successes. The club has been a basket case since day dot, as were Balmain and Wests long before the JV. If you were tired of mismanagement and poor performance you would have walked away well before now.

How many other club’s captains have carried on the way Woods has during this whole process? Are you honestly happy with the way he conducted himself? Moses behaved like a goose, Woods and Teddy need to pull the pin if they’re not happy. If the money that no one else is offering is all that is keeping you in two minds, then sayonara.

Pull the contracts, let them all go and start again. And if fans find that unpalatable, perhaps Parra, Easts or Canterbury can sort them out with memberships for 2018.

Woods isn’t coping well , and I mean mentally isn’t coping well

Blind Freddy can see that , I bet if he’d known that 2017 had started the way it had (including off field ) he would never have taken the role of captain

Tedesco felt rushed into a decision last time , he has said that

This is their big contract of their career CB and I don’t have an issue if they want to get the best deal for themselves

They have made a few mistakes no doubt , but this club has made far more errors

As far as I’m concerned yet again many of our fans are proving AGAIN to be the disgrace in all this , not the players

And secondly IF this club was better run , none of this would happen , would it

People need to open their eyes , really

Tedesco is killing himself out their for this club week after week and yet fans are bagging him , if you can’t see it on his face your blind

Disgraceful , many of here have absolutely no clue and no class , go have a look at yourselves in a mirror

You loved sticking the boot into Farah last year when the club was shafting him.

Now you are having a cry because your mate/family member Tedesco is copping a bit of grief from a small minority of fans.

If your that upset with the club then leave, no ones stoping you.

and im suicidal watching us play this poorly

You know what? I’ve gone completely in the opposite direction with my thoughts and feelings.

After over 50 years of avidly supporting first Wests and now Wests Tigers - heart racing throughout every match, jumping up and down like a maniac at games, running out of the loungeroom because I couldn’t bear to look at the TV in close matches, angry & depressed when they lose, elated when they win - I seriously now could not care less!

I am completely unemotional when watching the Tigers play now, I don’t care if they win and I don’t care if they lose - my God, I never in all my life thought that I would end up like this!! I thought that I would always haven that emotional connection when watching my footy team go around, no matter how much I tried to stay calm and disassociated, but all the years of turmoil, mediocrity, mismanagement, bad press, bad decisions, disunity, constant rebuilding phases, lack of fight shown by the players and potential never realised, I genuinely couldn’t give a sh!t anymore.

My sentiments exactly !

Well if you two don’t give a –-- anymore - why do you expect the team to?

Its their job so you would expect they do care with or without Hobbos support, after all the majority of them are paid well above what the average australian brings home.

What did that have to do with the team selections he made every week? JAC was available all last year and he put Rankin in ahead of him. Why? He also had Siro and Farah in reserve grade while Lovett and Halatau started. That wasn’t cap related, that was just stupidity.

Those selections werent just stupid, they were sabotage. He had vendettas that held precedence over team success.

Agree 100%

Vendettas? So he was purposely selecting “bad players” to take revenge on certain other players, in spite of or at risk of losing matches? He was sabotaging the team at risk of his own career?

I’ve seen some wild accusations here but that is up there. You guys are just making this up, what pure nonsense.

Seriously give me even a shred of support for this apart from what you think you are viewing on the footy field. Anything, give me any skerrick of legit info that you saw or heard, or even that somebody told you, apart from your weekly review of the team roster and your own wild imagination.

So despite dumping Siro and Farah to reserves for performance issues (perceived by coach, not necessarily with agreement from all fans), the fact that he didn’t dump Rankin and Halatau and Lovett as well means he had vendettas against the players he dumped, but not the players he kept (that you obviously don’t rate)?

There are a few things you have overlooked.

  • JAC was not in the Top 25 and there were 2nd-tier cap issues for him to play firsts.
    \

  • Rankin was the incumbent winger and goal-kicker from 2015; JAC was only signed for 2016
    \

  • Tigers wanted to keep JAC but Storm fielded a superior offer which he accepted, then he tried to get out of it but the 10-day cooling off had expired and Tigers could not retain him without a penalty payment to Storm. Considering we were in salary cap trouble at the start of this year, it’s clear we didn’t have the spare money to make a bigger offer for JAC.

By all means have a rant, but please try just a little to make it an informed and constructive rant.

If you expect people to make effort you should probably get your info correct as well.

Rankin was the incumbent of nothing from 2015 as he didn’t begin playing for us until 2016. He arrived at the same time as JAC. Also he didn’t begin kicking goals for us until round 6. Moses was our kicker to begin the year.

Whare would be a terrific signing that you probably wouldnt have to break the bank for.

Yeah JT had nearly a season with Parra and three with souths making the eight three out of those four and finishing in the black 3 times with f/a.

2 out of 4

Parra - 8th 2006

Souths - 7th 2007, 14th 2008, 10th 2009

Probably a big call. I think suspect Cleary had a role in the development of quite a number of players currently in first grade.

In any case, lumping together all the seasons distorts the figures. The facts are Cleary has coached teams to preliminary finals and grand finals, something JT never looked like doing. He also left Penrith and Warriors in reasonable shape. The harsh reality is we went backwards under JT. I think Cleary compares very favorably.

I don’t think Sheens’ record can be questioned. If Cleary brings us a premiership a finals appearance and nothing more over a similar period of time I’ll be very happy.

Really? My memory tells me (and I admit it can be faulty) that JT took Parra and Souths to finals appearances.

He mentioned Prelim Finals + Grand finals. JT never made it past the first round of the final series.

I know the forum is split about JT, but he has failed every test so far, so I guess he needs to be around the top 6 by round 10 , or we have again wasted another season on a useless coach. I will put it right out there I think he is not a coaches a**** hole, but I will give him to round 10, before a really start calling for his head. but this will change if he brings Lovett back into the side after his ban, having rankin is bad enough without him been there.

I believe BP by round six JT’s future should be determined. If the Board is savvy, there should be a replacement in situ to take over so the year is not wasted.

Paws you copped a bit of heat on this one but far out the way this is playing out you might be bang on the money.
